Just heard from Lydia's husband/bass player that (besides Real, streaming on NPR today at http://www.npr.org/2016/08/11/488660920/first-listen-lydia-loveless-real) but she's doing a co-headlining gig on 8/10 in Cincy with Tommy Stinson...anywho, this news immediately brought you to mind.

Hey Jeff, thanks. I'd seen that posted but hadn't actually clicked through on it yet. Cory's recorded music is always a conundrum for me as they always seem to fall short of his live shows. One day, he'll be able to capture that live vibe on vinyl I hope...although this sounds really good (and promising I might add). Funny, he almost has a Waylon sound going on during the first chorus. I'm kicking myslef for passing on Lydia last night. Too much "life" getting in the way...oh well, I do hear that she'll be doing a headlining show here in September which will be way better than her opening for the Old 97's at a 2000 person venue like last night. BTW, not to rub it in but I am going to MN for the Mats.

So I see you managed to find a leaked copy of Psychedelic Pill as well. What did you think? I've only listened to Driftin' Back thus far (or at least the first 15 minutes of it, ha ha). Not overly impressed. Meandering and self indulgent if you ask me. I'm hoping some of the shorter (i.e. less than 27 minutes) material is stronger.
