Damn, Japan produced a lot of fun and bonkers movies around the 60s-70s, though they already had a bunch of quality in the 50s. I just watched the original The Burmese Harp from '56 yesterday (thanks to the current political situation around here I, umm, decided to watch a few movies about the WWII era). Though I'm trying to catch movies from a lot more cultures than just Japan+Hollywood..

I mean i don't care about the production/filming year really, I just want a good movie. And most of those are just older, sometimes I don't like the look of newer movies and the way Hollywood and Netflix have their scripts structured was something I already got tired of in the early '10s where I at one point consciously decided that I prefer series over movies (because I didn't know better, really). Now looking at it I like the weird stuff, and weird stuff pulled off well is too expensive for series
