Nicht ganz. ;) Habe ne Weile in Eibelstadt gewohnt, mittlerweile in einem Kaff zwischen Schweinfurt & Bad Kissingen. Daher sind Konzerte in Würzburg immer noch mit am nähesten, sonst gibt's hier ja kaum was.

Their musical evolution reminds me of Katatonia, though they didn’t start with a music genre as extreme as the latter. But I like late EoG a lot better than late Katatonia. That must be awesome, having such an amazing band so close by! Have you ever seen them live?

Same, I'm not a fan of late Katatonia / anything after Dead End Kings. :/ Yes, seeing them live at least once a year, so lucky! :)

Thank you so much! :) Yes, I couldn't just listen to one genre, there's so much good music to discover. Would be a shame if you with living in Sweden, never had discovered the genre you do best. ;) Haha yeah, only watched Buffy for the first time in 2023 in my mid 30s but I feel in love (...with Spike :'D). Already did a rewatch, read all the comics and listen to Buffy podcasts. And I so much regret not watching it as a teen - but better late than never!

Haha true about Sweden, I actually listened to In Flames as a teen but nothing more in that genre really, and then I kind of started listening to other music and only rediscovered the genre 4 years ago maybe cause my German boyfriend. Oh I just rewatched buffy (already rewatched it 2 times before I think) but never read all the comics or listened to any podcasts (also what podcasts? Never heard about). First time I finished Buffy I remember looking up the comics but never got hold of them somehow, forgot they even existed, but maybe I will give them a chance now, u recommend? But yeah I also never saw Buffy as a teen, too bad, discovered it quite late (in my early 20s) and now I’m 33. But yeah I also love Spike haha.

I recommend reading the comics, you just have to make it through Buffy season 8. :D And the "After The Fall" Angel/Spike comics are super chaotic. But yes, read the comics if you love the Buffyverse. It's difficult and expensive to get them but you can read them on websites like onemillioncomics.com for example. There are reading order lists , it can be a bit tricky to navigate through all of them if you also wanna read the little side stories of Willow, Spike, Riley, tales of the vampires etc. You've surprised by how many people do rewatch podcasts! I didn't realize how much there is to talk about and what an influence the series had on the whole industry.

Oh no, I'm so sorry, I hope you get better eventually! <3 I had covid back in 2022 and it was awful but luckily no consequences. Oh it's really fun, they just share their opinion, theories or backgrounds on the episodes, story or actors that I didn't know before. :) My favourite two are "Still Pretty" (they also have a "Still Dead" on Angel) and "The Rewatcher" - this one is so fun because one of the hosts is watching Buffy for the first time so she doesn't know what's gonna happen. :D

I often have issues with back pain and OF COURSE after some pain free months I got some horrible back pain again on Monday. With 2h driving there and back + standing for hours there was no way I could go to the concert yesterday. :((( By now I believe there's a curse preventing me from seeing WT. Oooh yes, I love "écailles de lune, pt. 2" and the whole album is definitely in my top 3 Alcest albums! So you're a surfer, too?

gahhh that sucks so bad! as a fellow haver of regular back pain i feel you too well.. ive had a few great shows be total duds for me cause of random pain. at this point you need to take matters into your own hands and do a "surprise visit" to a city where either of the bands are playing, by chance of course to take over the curse. the curse persists that? well, atleast youre on a vacation so it wont feel that bad

Haha, good idea! :D Back pain really sucks, I actually thought I was over it. Some months ago I read a book by John Sarno which talks about the pain being more psychological and all that I've read made a lot of sense to me - the back pain was gone suddenly after reading that. Highly recommend looking into John Sarno, it's really interesting and might help you. :) But yeah, concerts and festivals aren't getting any easier as we get older... and I'm not even drinking anymore, it's not fair!

...I ran out of space... BUT! With Marko now gone as well, I really have a hard time to drum up a lot of enthusiasm. First listen of "Yesterwynde" didn't do a lot for me. What's your take? "Human Nature" didn't do a lot for me either, even though 'How's the Heart' is a great song. Exactly the kind of Nightwish I like. And currently, I can't stop listening to Nightwish for some reason.

So funny how many people find Nightwish through WoW or WoW Youtube videos. :D I'm still into Harry Potter, yes! :D Just the books tho, never cared for the movies much... to say it nicely. ;) Yess, I saw them live last year and it was amazing! Much better than with Anette, that's for sure. Especially Greatest Show On Earth, so epic! Floor is amazing but she cannot show her full potential with the songs she's given by Tuomas, especially on the new album, her voice is even buried in the mix. :/ So I agree, not the best but I'd always go to a show if they play here and let's be honest: We complain about the music but in the end it's still SO GOOD compared to a lot of other music out there, we just have really high standards, haha. Yes, I miss Marco, too. :(

I'm more of a Ghost Love Score kind of guy. :D Last time I saw them, they also played Greatest Show on Earth... A bit too long for me. I would prefer more songs in the set. :D I see a lot of people complaining about the mix. I just had it in the background, so I did not listen closely. To some extent, yes. But I'd say the general quality, overall, in music, has gone down. With Nightwish, yeah, when you have previously released what you could categorize as classics, there will always be a level of expectation for subsequent albums. I wouldn't mind if he joined Tarja's band and toured with some classics... :P Tarja's main albums rarely keep my interest. How about you?

Oder das :) Wobei sich innerhalb der letzten 10-15 Jahre ja teils wirklich mehr grundlegend verändert hat als in den Jahren davor. Besonders in Bezug auf Technologie und das Internet generell. Ich denke oftmals mit einem weinenden Auge an die Pre-Smartphone Zeiten. Oder die Zeiten wo ICQ, MSN und SchülerVZ das non plus Ultra der Sozialen Netzwerke waren. Naja genug der Nostalgie :D

Interessant^^ - ich halte von der musikalischen Übereinstimmung inzwischen zwar nicht mehr so viel wie früher, da sie meiner Ansicht nach ungenauer geworden ist, aber bei mir steht: "Deine Kompatibilität mit iSui ist sehr hoch. Ihr beide hört My Dying Bride, In Flames und Saltatio Mortis." und beim Überfliegen der Musiksammlung sind mir doch einige interessante Parallelen aufgefallen, abseits vom dominierenden Genre. ;)

I can definitely relate. I went to their show in 2007, when they had, I think, only 2 albums out. And yeah, I imagine listening to songs on the internet instead on the physical carrier, such as CD, with a booklet in front of you, only makes things worse. Würde mich mal interessieren, wie viel Songs man im Jahr schafft, wenn man nur Grindgore hört, wo viele Lieder einfach nur 1-2 min dauern - aber das ist es nicht wert xD Bin jetzt auch seit 18 Jahren am durchscrobbeln, aber eben auch viele lange Lieder. Da läuft die Musik eigentlich 8h täglich :D

Haha :D Ja, solche 8h+ Tage hatte ich früher auch, inzwischen meist eher so 3-4h maximal. Ich hab aber auch immer solche Phasen, in denen ich voll musikfanatisch bin und dann kommt wieder eine andere Phase.
