I do indeed miss you. And I (mostly) succeeded in watching that game as a neutral viewer. No one around me did, but...

Sorry to hear that. It was...interesting. The beginning of his set was pretty good, and most similar to his Bee Mask works. Just started off with some clinking noises, but they were fed through different speakers throughout the room, so it seemed like they were bouncing around you. Then he added more and more layers, as he's apt to do. He turned into a noise artist halfway through. Just heavy walls of paralyzing sound that felt like it would never end. When it stopped, there was an onslaught of balloon noises: blowing air, releasing, squeaking, rubbing. Then surprise, more noise again. It felt like he was fucking with us for kicks, but everyone was a good sport and laughed. It was a bit unexpected, but I'm still glad I went.

I turned off scrobbling on Spotify, which is pretty much all I used for the spring semester at school. but yeah I haven't listened to a ton of 2012 stuff. if I had to pick an album as a favorite it would be the new Beach House album. I am fairly excited for the new AC album but the new single isn't too awesome. then again I've only listened to it twice. also, Michigan and UT both go 9-3 this season.

Couldn't have played a worse game overall and they still beat a good VT squad. I'm happy.

Yeah, it's likely going to be a last-minute call. My dad has season tickets as a Michigan alumnus, but he usually only goes to maybe one game a year (didn't go to one this year, though) and sells the rest. Because he knows he can probably make some good money off of selling his tickets I'm expecting that I won't be going, but considering this is essentially a once-in-a-lifetime trip (second time Michigan has ever played in the Sugar Bowl, first since 1983) I might be there.

Just decided: my triumphant return to IGN will be next Saturday night after Michigan beats The Whores of Columbus. Assuming I have internet access, of course. I'll be driving back from Kentucky after Tennessee beats UK for the 27th year in a row as well. Reading the Michigan-Nebraska thread right now and it couldn't be more sweet.

I'm only 18, so I don't have as vast of a memory as a lot of CFB fans do. With that said, I can't remember a situation like this that has been handled as utterly poorly as Penn State has handled Paterno/Sandusky/Spanier/Curley/etc. And the reaction by students and the posters on Black Shoe Diaries pissed me off to no end. If everyone thought Tennessee fans were ridiculous in their reaction to Kiffin leaving, what happened last night was 100 times worse and more pathetic. The Nebraska/PSU game Saturday is maybe the most interesting game of the year. I can't tell if Penn State is going to come out ready to kill Nebraska after what's happened this week or if they're going to have too much on their minds and lose badly. I can't foresee an in-between happening.

Is it OK to go from not really disliking a fan base to hating them fervently in less than a week? Because I'm totally at that level now with Penn State.

Yeah, it's pretty awesome so far. Only three days into classes though. The dorm isn't bad at all and the internet (ever since getting a free ethernet cable from the library to avoid the super-slow WiFi) is pretty awesome. Food quality is good. Free TV service (around 60-65 channels from Comcast) is very nice. The only big adjustments I've had to make were Central to Eastern time, which I'm still adjusting to, and actually having to study and take notes on my own for the first time in forever.

Probably not. UT plays South Carolina that weekend and I don't currently have many transportation options (until Christmas break, my only car option is my roommate's), so I'm not planning on it.
