say what you want about tiktok and its influence on music but ive been going through my playlist thats essentially songs that trended bc of tiktok and the variety of genres and artists is very impressive tbh..... like whoa some of these started off as such random niche songs. it's pretty cool that the artists got the chance to experience such success, hopefully the pros of going viral outweighed the cons

im not the BIGGEST fan of most of her songs that happen to be on spotify (outside maiden collector ofc) bc a lot of them are for collabs and random stuff , but my personal favorites are miss s's mimicry and new testament, a secret creaking in the chains . those two are remastered versions of songs off of her older albums THAT I LOVE SO MUCH <3333

this is my PSA that the my chem revenge re-mix is SOOOOOOO FUCKING GOOD and if it looks like i havent listened to it, it's just bc i redirected the listens to the og track titles #organization. im probably going to primarily listen to the re-mix now which is impressive cuz when remasters and stuff come out im usually like.... ok cool 🤷 but this one is different. im very impressed and i need everyone to know how good it is and how much i like it

I KNOWWWWWW it was already a bit messy and annoying when it first got added, but then they decided to somehow make it worse in the past few months??? SAVE US. not that i enjoy it, but i can deal with having multiple tags for the same song! but multiple tags for the same ARTIST is unbelievable, especially for an artist with a name like undead.........

i just tried so hard to locate the perfect michael jackson album versions on spotify (no remaster tags, no compilation albums, etc) so i would have the cleanest most organized most accurate most beautiful lastfm ever to exist . and then.... somehow i'm scrobbling "- 2012 Remaster" even though spotify itself says im listening to "Dirty Diana" NOT "Dirty Diana - 2012 Remaster" (and it doesnt show up like that on airbuds either) . okay girl my bad for trying to be organized... automatic edit it is i guess

i noticed this the other day too, if u have the og version of a song on a playlist, it will sometimes play the audio of the remastered version even though it LOOKS like you're listening to the original. ive had "they" by jem of "finally woken" in a playlist since 2018, i was listening to it and suddenly i was getting a scrobble for "they - remastered 2024" off of "finally woken 20th anniversary remastered edition" even though it shows up as the original song in my playlist. i could probably go on an infinite number of rambles about niche lastfm annoyances like this....😭 i could report this/ask about it to staff but this feels more like an issue on spotify's end. and to be honest i haven't paid enough attention to know if the audio playing truly has been the remastered one or not. just weird inconvenient stuff going on 🙄

correction on the airbuds thing, it looks correct while you're actively listening to it, but then in my history, all of them have the remastered tags and the album cover of the remastered album. i think last.fm does this sometimes too where it looks like it's the tag you want while you're listening but once you've finished, it shows the remastered. sounds like weird annoying stuff on spotify's end, and if i truly cared about listening to the non-remastered audio of songs, i would probably be quite annoyed that it refuses to let you listen to the original even though it LOOKS like you can........
