I stumbled across it on google when trying to find some music for skiing, saw we've got loads of music in common :) Didn't enjoy Tomorrow's Harvest that much.. It's too "flat" for my taste, but will still do up in the mountains ahah. If you know anyone within that genre but more like moby and m83 (as in vocals too), shout out!

Hey man, yeah I'm Beach House crazy. Devotion their second album is pretty dreamy, You Came to Me would be my favourite song of theirs. But Teen Dream is just killer, full of great songs. Thankyou sir. I sometimes worry that my charts are not an accurate representation of my music tastes due to the amount I try to listen to new/unheard stuff. Then I realise that's a pretty dumb thing to worry about and worry about something more worthy. Like getting eaten by something. Bands from Romania? Based on your music tastes I'd really really really recommend Omul cu Sobolani. As for others, you wouldn't understand shit, but here goes: classic/hard rock: Holograf, Iris, Cargo, Compact, Celelalte Cuvinte (The Other Words :P); heavy metal: Trooper, Negura Bunget (black metal); alternative rock: Vita de Vie, Luna Amara, Travka, Kumm; folk rock: Phoenix, Pasarea Colibri, Zdob si Zdub; pop rock: Vama Veche, Parlament, Directia 5, Bosquito, Talisman; ska/punk: E.M.I.L., Pistol cu capse, Ska-nk. Those are about the "main" bands :p

Ah good to hear! I was hoping you weren't let down a bit like you were with Sufjan's LP (although a reverse Sufjan move followup EP would be sweet)... definitely darker cousin, the only lighter moment I'd say is the little guitar line that hits at about half-way into Separator, which drew my attention to the damp and dark hue over all the other tracks. Can't wait for the vinyl.

Really enjoying it, how about you? I'm not surprised at all the haters, the songs aren't as catchy, they seem denser, more tightly textured, and work up an energy that sort of hovers for 4 minutes or so without the big Radiohead change or climax that was perhaps expected (Separator would be an exception). But I already loved Radiohead tracks which worked like that (Pyramid Song, A Punchup at a Wedding, etc.) and find more intricate details in these new tracks that have me loving every listen. I've read of frantic Radiohead nuts predicting that there'll be more new material to come in the near future, which would be lovely, but I'm more than happy with what we've been given here.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't have such a great time. I was lucky to have a chat to some of the guys (and girls) in the band a few days before the gig, who mentioned that it was almost all Age of Adz/All Delighted People tracks, which meant my expectations were in check. But I've come to love his newest material, with its energy and colour and billowing depth, so I was pleased to hear a lot of it live. He did though play two more Illinois songs after the encore at the show I went to (UFO sightings, John Wayne Gacy Jnr) which rounded out the night nicely.
