Jokes aside don't feel bad because you're hardly alone in that assumption lol. I do love Gizz a fair bit, but as is somewhat shown here (and somewhat not since theres a big gap for a couple of years) I love a good few other artists too, if not moreso than them.

tah very much! They're like two peas in a pod; one week I'll binge one, then feel going through the other the week after that. Used to listen to a fair bit of Perturbator myself around 2017/18, which won't reflect properly here but oh well. Also need to dig through Black Sabbath more beyond their first four albums.

Tah very much! Love to see Audioslave's self-titled up high for you, love them a lot. Can't blame you re: Osees, they're a bit of a fickle bunch to get into (somewhat apologies/disclaimer for the paragraph that's to follow lmao). The name changes certainly don't help lol, but it's worth mentioning there's a vague logic to them in that they follow sound/genre changes in the band. Oversimplifying and ignoring certain big asterisks; OCS, The Ohsees, and The Oh Sees is freak folk, and that period lasted from 2001-2007, Thee Oh Sees goes from 2008 to 2016 and that's pure garage rock, Oh Sees is from 2017 to 2019/sorta 2020 and that covers prog and some longform krautrock jamming too, and then 2020 to current is Osees, under which they've mostly been doing various strains of punk with some electronic experiments on the side to boot. As far as getting started with em, most point out 2015's Mutilator Defeated At Last - they'd honed the garage rock formula down to a T there.

I'll have to dig about for it but I did at one point recently make a crazy conspiracy theorist corkboard looking flowchart thing that links everything up, but also if you wanna just ask for further pointers with em I don't mind that either lol. (If it helps, for the prog stuff I'd say start on Smote Reverser from 2018, for the freak folk start with Thee Hounds of Foggy Notion from 2008, and for the punk stuff start with Protean Threat from 2020 or A Foul Form from 2021).

thanks for the work! I'll take a screenshot of this so I can remember when I have the time to listen to them. Also, thanks for the explanation on the name changes, certainly makes them feel more approachable if there is a certain logic to it lol. And yeah I love Audioslave! I don't listen to those albums that much anymore, but I hold great memories of the songs (Getaway Car my beloved, one of the "simpler" guitar solos by Morello but it works soooo well).

That's the main logic to the names, yeah. The other reason for it really is just John Dwyer likes fucking with people and the music industry lol. Also same; I listened to Audioslave a lot more when I was younger, but I still have very fond memories and nostalgia for them <3. Their slower songs were so lovely alongside the heavy stuff too, yeah. I Am a Highway and Heaven's Dead were also favourites of mine.

abolish monochrome artist profile pics across every artist in your library its almost like a slight tint of colour or anything that isn't static on this website and half of you will go into a primal fit of rage

ehhhh you say that but there was that one time back in...*thiiink* it was around 1697? I wasn't around for that long, they put me under pretty quick, lot of screaming, crying, and "BEGONE FOUL BEAST" yada yada yada...apparently having three tentacles coming out your back is a crime but hey I'm not one to pass judgement 🙄

my memory gets quite hazy about these things, that could've also been that one time in the mid-800s even

You won't, don't worry; even if you do, you can delete any autoscrobble rules you've made by going to https://www.last.fm/settings/subscription/automatic-edits/albums. I normally listen to it on Bandcamp, so it tracks it as one anyways, but if you go to both album pages [which I'm guessing will be https://www.last.fm/user/DitzyFish/library/music/Vylet+Pony/Super+Pony+World:+Fairytails+(Part+I) and https://www.last.fm/user/DitzyFish/library/music/Vylet+Pony/Super+Pony+World:+Fairytails+(Part+II) ], there should be a pencil icon at the top of the page. Click that and a small dialogue will appear where you can change the album artist and album title. There's also a checkbox to make sure any future scrobbles autocorrect to the one single title, yeah. Also, you can do it individually per song, but that'll take much longer, so that's best for just fixing typos lol.

But yeah, it should just be Parts 1 and 2. There's also the Medley of Visions EP, that has that whole song in its 19 parts. Because that's not on Bandcamp, I just have it like that on my locally downloaded version, and then just manually submit that. That last bits quite pedantic though; I just like having prog suites split up into their separate sections if I can get them like that lol.

Oh also also I forgot to say, currently there's a weird bug when you make an autoscrobble edit that it flashes up an error saying there was an issue and it couldn't do it - ignore that and just press 'Save Edit' again. Also if it helps - https://imgur.com/a/qmV5SP3

Thee Hounds of Foggy Notion by Thee Oh Sees is very soon gonna be the first album to cross the 1k milestone - treat yourself if you haven't lately, lovely chill lo-fi freak folk studio live album. Also, technically, it's the soundtrack to a "concert" film ("Live Performances Sans Stages and Whatnots with Thee Oh Sees") [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJ86emsnzz8]

naaah I don't use streaming much so that's not been an issue for me lol. Most of my scrobbles are either playing things off Bandcamp or local downloads, so they're already tagged properly. The real mad dedication is listing every OCS / The Ohsees / The Oh Sees / Thee Oh Sees / Oh Sees / Osees album / EP / single under the "correct" name; that took time and energy lol

kinda wish there were two like functions as such - a like and a love; it'd save me having a large growing number of loved tracks at least but oh well, ig a playlist of actual loved songs will have to do for now

also my loved tracks are fucked because I keep editing shit so there's a bunch of duplicates and at this point I can't be asked to go back through them all lmao

Cheers! As do you! I honestly dunno how it pulls those parity comparisons through though, because I listen to Gizz and Ween often enough, but for King Krule I listened to Space Heavy once like a month back lol lmao. I beg of you to listen to some of C418's stuff outside the Minecraft soundtracks though 🙏 he's got some great stuff knocking about like Excursions, Dief, 148 and One.

GREAT profile, really enjoyable scroll. The Shacklewell Arms is a terrific venue. Your comment on The Hoosiers had me howling.

Cheers! You've got an impressive profile yourself with 15 or so years of service. British Sea Power have been on my mind to check out for a while, and I'm hoping one day Bowie clicks for me. So I've heard! Unluckily, couldn't get tickets for that, so I only went to the first two Osees nights, but they were still really fucking good. That guy on the Hoosiers page never got back to me though 😔😔

Many rocks that are quite psychedelic. Need to give Tears for Fears a proper go one day; heard their Best Of CD a lot ages back as a kid, but I've never dug deeper...

We love Gizzy <3. Slowly finding my way into Ween's backcatalog; was in a different mindset when I first tried to like 5/6 years back, so they're working better now lol.
