Well, I've moved house for a start and quadrupled my mortgage! I've been listening to all kinds of stuff, mainly stoner. However I have been listening a lot to a piece of classical music I heard on the film Kingdom of Heaven, the bit where the King is being buried, its the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard and I managed to track it down on iTunes.Can't really get into Darkthrone.I have Soulside Journey in my collection, but that was when they were a Death Metal Band.I can recommend a band called Disma(Members of Incantation/Funebrarum) http://www.myspace.com/dismadeathmetal

Still waiting for the cd to arrive. I downloaded a Grave Maisma track from last fm a while ago. Its ok, but I prefer my music to be a bit 'thicker' Anything where the riffs literally crawl out of the speakers. Some of the Black/Death bands i've heard sound a bit 'trebly' I'm always open to suggestions though. The mutt is a sweety isn't she. She's deaf when its suits her, but can hear a sweet being unwrapped from 100 feet away!

I heard on the grapevine that Sarpanitum are having problems which is a shame.I've been listening to some old school DM as well, such as Master, Carnage and Cadaver.Strangely enough I'm enjoying them more now than when I first bought the CD's years ago.At the moment I'm having something of a stoner revival. Tia Carrera are floating my boat, plenty of Psychedelic jamming!

We had one awesome band at one stage called "Insurrection", they had a big Malevolent Creation, and Morbid Angel influence and had great galloping songs, and were probably the only South African band that had tempo changes in their music. Ohh, I forgot to ask... have you heard a band called HADES ARCHER yet? They've got a member of FORCE OF DARKNESS, and their "Penis Metal" (GREAT NAME!! HAHAHA) EP is like the FoD debut album crammed into 13 minutes!!! Fucking intense stuff!!! Like FoD on steroids!

Hehe, so I was a bit late finding that FoD! I blame it on the fact that I live in South Africa... we've got a bit of jet lag here with regards to finding gems... haha! This place butchers great bands like Archenemy (US) for putting them on the same page as the crappy Swedish trendy band... That's so horrible! I don't even wanna become a fan because then I'll have a picture of that ugly red head on my page! HAHAHA!! So how's life in the UK? I heard English is becoming a minority language!! Looks like England is conquering itself if you as me! Hahaha!

You know, I think I like Torsten's version better than Christian's now. This demo is killer. Thanks again. I updated my blog with the two demos, so check it out!

At first, I found it a little weird that it was much less melodic. For example, the "Lead me to the kingdom of depths..." part sounded a bit forced and was totally different from the album version. But I guess with the guttural vocal style, there's not much room for pitch change and melody. But after the initial shock of the vocalist not being Christian, I like it a lot! Can't say which I like more! And by the way, after a few minutes spent squinting at MA's artwork for the demo, I deduced that the guy's name was Torsten Gilsbach. That sound about right? Man, those vocals are awesome, though. Wish he had done more with Dark Millennium.

Hi, you should try bands like Root, Krabathor, Debustrol, Kryptor, Crux, Denet, Dementor (SK). Best album from Törr is for me Witchhammer (demo) .
