Lovecraft's (the band) At the Mountains of Madness, It's About Time, Spin, Spin, Spin, Mobius Strip, Nothing's Boy; plenty of strong cuts on that one, although I've read the band felt rushed to finish that particular album, and had had higher hopes for it.

I had the Shadows LP, too. I was big into Lovecraft the writer in High School, so when the band's second album (my favorite) appeared in stores I tried it out. I figured it would be good for our next LSD session, the cover was so trippy (this is a very long time ago, I should add :)

Shadows of Knight? I was big into that album in Jr. High. One of the guys later joined H.P. Lovecraft one of my favorite psychedelic era S.F. bands that didn't make it.

Somehow I was asleep on Small Faces, following it's members to their next bands right enough.

So who else do you like; that you would put on par with The Who Sell Out (doesn't have to be an oldie)?

I agree with you that Sell Out is one of their most important creations, and one on few people's radar. Tommy, which might have been their Sgt. Pepper's, seemed so bloated by comparison, for me.
