It's a school-wide tradition professors endorse, honestly. The idea is that there isn't any design/intellectual work behind the work that's given to student helpers. It's generally like semi-mindlessly glueing intricate pieces repetively like in my case. It's cool because through helping you learn modelbuilding techniques more than anything, but don't make serious design decisions because it's ultimately someone else's project. Professors are cool with it! One suggested I do it. Sounds wrong without a backstory though, definitely

Haha oh I'm not in it yet, I was helping someone else with theirs. There's a, sort of strange, tradition where fifth years sometimes pay for other students to help build their base models and do things that are sort of mindless and tedious. Anyway I'll have to check him out. How's everything going on your end? How are finals?

Ahhh I need to listen to him! I had my computer on building a thesis model last night and after maybe ~ 1 hr I noticed my itunes was playing accidentally starting from my top artist with no volume. I'll have to check him out!

It's good, it's a little tedious at worst, but the lessons stick if youre down with essentially listening and speaking to a 30 minute chapter of an audiobook. I really don't know how you feel about The Misfits, but their singer on the "American Psycho" album, Michale Graves had a few solo albums and one with Damian Echols. They're mainly acoustic....you may like it.
