not really... you should (yes, SHOULD!) try Samothrace - atmospheric sludge/doom with screaming (or is it growling?) vocals that don't really mean anything. just the way i like it ;)

late again, sorry. studying's a bitch. got 99 problems and... studying is 98 of them :)) hey, u like my avatah? it's me a few years ago, with my Ibanez ...modified in PAINT, haha! ...Paris? meh, never been to Paris - always thought it was some hypocritical mix of loneliness and fluff. but omFg, u saw so much great stonah stuff! the fucking Wizard! how was THAT? and Goatsnake, whoa! are C.o.C. playing as three, nowadays? or at least is Pepper still in the band? oh shit, and u saw Hawkwind! muy bien! congratulaciones! anyway, now leaving Paris... why NY?

goddamn, i see you've tried listening to the latest Place of skulls - i stopped after 2,5 tracks. the first two were bearable, but the third gave me a vomiting sensation ...hm, wonder why... i mean the christianothingness was pretty obvious on previous releases, but here it's just obscene. anyway, don't you need rings in your bodeh in order to "suspend" yourself? and maybe some sedation, dunno. yay, mr. anti-posh has been to the posh capital! did Paris sizzle or shizzle? :)) good man! - travel while you can! i like your initiative. so how else was the royal pain in the ass, by which i mean Hellfest? what was the "good music"?

body suspension, wtf? France, where? wow, Sleep in NY \\m// ...u travel a lot. good shit. well, u may wanna try Qnsrch's "Promised Land" first. u'll probably digest "Mindcrime" easier, even though there's a 6-7 year difference between the two and "Land" isn't older. it's just... more today. and yes, "Church" is quite kickass! Wino fah evah!

how've ya been, my nygaard? :) i've been LATE! ahem. moving on... d'ya give Operation: Mindcrime a spin? if not, maybe you shouldn't, cos i've listened to (parts of) it recently and realized you definitely wouldn't like it. period. cheesy is one thing, but this here is stinky limburger :)) ...i still dig it, but let's just say i can manage to be rather conservative. and this album is very nwobhm-style conservative. i even saw it live in Bucharest 3 years ago and enjoyed it. but, to give ya an idea, there were a lotta (traditional) metalheads there and they also enjoyed it so it may not be for you. moooving on... i posted a new personal vid on my wall :D ...already very popular among friends.if only they knew that was the 13th take. lucky 13, you never fail me. btw, i'm constantly on the run, at least until around the middle of july - trips to Bucharest (and not concerts!), my final masters exam etc., so take your time ...cause i know i am :)) ...but seriously, i'm busy as fuck :((

yeah, Seal would make me feel guilty too :)) ...good voice, i guess. i prefer instruments. that's why i dig prog metal - from extremely technical Cynic / Dysrhythmia / Meshuggah (all jazzy, but subtle as fuck ...and still very different from one another) etc to easier (and cheesier! but people shouldn't focus on vocals so much) stuff like Queensryche. yep, they're pretty oldschool, at least compared to the ones above. not as much rooted in '70s British prog (ELP, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Crimson, Yes) as in nwobhm. but i see you dig Budgie, so you might enjoy the Q's "Operation: MIndcrime" :) concept album, lyrically subversive and musically acceptable, not too technical ...not even as much as Dream Theater. btw, why do most indie/grunge/stoner kids pick on DT? it's not crappy anthemic power metal in Maiden or Priest fashion. actually, they've always been fashion outcasts. since the late '80s, the music industry has fed teen apathy with crap like the Smashing Pumpkins. makes ya wonder...

i'm glad i scared ya a little :)) btw, new guitar vid on fb! never stop playing! i don't think i could, i mean how is it possible? only if one loses their instrument, otherwise i can't figure out how. speaking of losing it, i know (mostly OF) Swans and what they're capable of. definitely revolutionary. never had the patience to 'listen'. same with Einstürzende Neubauten. lately i've been suckin' on prog metal like a nympho. gotta get my fix. how 'bout u - any guilty pleasures?

interesting fusion you've got goin' there :) oh, and i loved the youtube coffee bit, haha! about me... on and off, i've been playing electric guitar (but nothing too complex) for about 5 years now. nothing organized, never in a band. had a project with a friend though, haha. i refuse to commit to a band, since i've got other shit to take care of ...been this way for two years or so, i fucking hate this uncertainty i've been dwelling in for all this time. so a band is out of the question for now. and afterwards... mr. notary plays the blues? dunno :-S ...thanks for the nice review :) from those videos, u should watch (more like "listen to") 'building shrines', 'gardenia', 'pyjama jam' (i'm actually proud of this one. not the visuals though, lol), 'gloomy doomsworth' and my version of BTO's 'not fragile' (actually, of Acid King's cover :D), from the second page. haha, it's like i'm trying to impress a producer or something. enjoy, i guess :)

i see you've really HAD dreads ...as opposed to now :)) well, "hair today, gone tomorrow" ...but that's also true backwards, so relax, it'll grow around yer piehole :) and fuck shaving! i'll have to start doing it regularly, though :( curses! i made my fb profile outta boredom, less than a year ago. at first, i was pretty active, but that went away with time. i do have some guitar experimentation videos there, if u ever feel like checking out. mostly simplistic doom-ish riffage - something we're both into, eh?

good stuff :D ...but why shave it all off? is it that fucked? i (kinda) officially gave up long hair in 2009. but, even afterwards, i kept growing all kindsa beards :) had a bit of a Jus Oborn thing going on, mostly because i sorta look like him :-O (although not entirely, since the hair never really got close to my lower lip), but i've always preferred a full-face - stoner/hippie, if ya know what i mean. i just let it grow ...till someone says something :)) i should give it up though, before it starts being frowned upon by other people than my parents. gotta love society. got pictures on my facebook profile, btw. u got one?

well, i guess George isn't quite what Larry wanted to be like :)) ...i knew they'd have a reunion, but i'm not so anxious to see that, since it would mean watching a new (to me) series all the way from the start and i'm not sure i'll have the patience. plus, the gf said it would piss me off a little, cause i get into the whole plot thing and sometimes even start throwing shit just because of some stupid unpredictable twist :)) ...back to you, Tom. so is that like a tattoo on your forehead / temple?

man, sounds disappointing :)) yet funny. i mean Shrinebuilder ...cause A.P. is nowhere near disappointing. but it is funny. especially the "killing spree", as you called it, which ended with that phone call to his lawyer, haha! [wiping tears] oh, good times... dude, i've been meaning to ask you: is that your face on the avatar? oh, and i've just seen this: Larry David group leader ;) sweet! i don't know if i could join, cause i still refuse to watch C.Y.E. - a lotta Seinfeld episodes i still have to watch, so i won't allow myself until that mission is complete. my gf is loca over that series, tho :)

well, i guess Shrinebuilder are constantly under somewhat of an influence :)) i knew Al was gettin' fatter (and not just his riffs), but what u tellin' me must be serious. got any pictures? anyway, i guess a great show is to be expected from the Düül anytime :) and, without comparison, one would throw his money away on just about anything. it's useful (not just plain memories) to think back and evaluate. all redundancy aside (i just needed closure on that comparison thing, haha), i didn't fully appreciate American Psycho the first time i saw it, this weekend having been the second time ...and i predict another in the not-too-far future :) sick shit. and that scene culminated with his laughter, which is actually what i was looking for, but couldn't find a screen cap ...or the patience to make one. still, it's better as a gif - my first gif avatar :D

the Düül were never about a powerful sound ...at least not in the '70s. great thing you enjoyed the show :) but don't blaspheme, let's not compare different musical approaches. Shrinebuilder is not meant to be proggy, just as the Düül, although very psychedelic, wouldn't last an hour with Al Cisneros. few people actually get Al's charm.

rotting_schntzl
wow, u gonna see the Düül, nice :) just remember what you've heard is from the late '60s - early '70s. i don't know how decrepit their music sounds these days, hopefully not a lot. gimme one o' dem feedbacks, yo. after the concert, i mean. Black Mountain - very Düül-ish / Floydian :) lovin' that album, particularly Wucan.
