Oh dear, I seem to have passed you in the night :-P (I feel like too many of these shouts are mine)

Nah, I'm back. I realized I can just block the people who irritate me rather than leave myself :-P I'm surprised anyone even noticed... And I'm still moving forward. Ever more slowly as I run out of new artists to listen to and have to keep branching out into new genres, but I'll get there, just you wait! As long as there is life in me, the scrobbles will keep coming ;-)

Let's see if I can get more artists in my library than you by the end of the year. Only 547 to go :-D

Pleased to see you added The Aristocrats to Radio Steeno, sir. One of my top 3 albums of 2013. Well, probably. I hope to have a final list up by February 1st ;-)

Actually it's more than a click, since I no longer have it bookmarked :-D Anyway, got work and junk, so no time now. Maybe later.

Billy Idol FTW! Btw, Spotify Mobile? Doesn't that massively fuck with your mobile bandwith allowance? Or is that just another case of everything being preposterously overpriced in Belgium? :-D

There is plenty of room in life for the ugly, raw music as well as the pretty, polished kind, and everything inbetween ;-)

You've never heard of them, or you are flabbergasted that I would listen to them? :-D In case of the former, obscure early death metal from Norway, big influence on early Darkthrone according to Fenriz. In case of the latter, their compilation album is available for free download from www.misantrof.net ;-)

Surely it should be possible to hook up a hi-fi to a computer, unless the hi-fi is particularly old ;-) I know what you mean though. I always try to play any new album at least once on the PC just to scrobble it :-D I'm too lazy to even try to integrate everything. Besides, my hi-fi and PC are not even in the same room...

Well... Music can help curing for sure, but depending on the person's taste and the thing which is to be cured. However selling special music in pharmacies sounds more like Esoteric and abusing gullibility - no matter, how good the music sounds. Apropos non-classical good quiet instrumental music - there my favs are a.o. Tangerine Dream, Kitaro, Yanni - somehow the style is often called "New Age Music"....

Crikey! I never actually started a physical list, so it would be far too much work for a procrastinator like myself to actually go back and add everything I've mentally noted over the years ;-) Sometimes I forget about the odd band, but generally I have a pretty good memory, so I just wing it in the shops. It helps to be a browser, happily spending a couple hours going through all the bins just in case you find something :-D Luckily, for not too obscure stuff from the 70s Amazon is a goldmine for cheap CD's, so I've already added their albums to my basket for my next order, whenever that will be...

Yes, I must confess I hadn't heard them before, but now I think it's another addition to the "To Buy" list ;-)

Heh, yeah, I noticed you scrobbling it last night ;-) BTW, the new Kroda is quite excellent indeed. As for Devin's Ghost, yeah it's etherial and mellow and dreamy, but it doesn't half drag on... Time to move on to the new Týr and hope it's a return to proggy form.

You oughta check out the new 'Arkan' album, "Salam". Basically a less prog and more death metal version of 'Orphaned Land' ;-) And you may also enjoy the 'Caligula's Horse' debut "Moments From Ephemeral City". Australian prog metal ('Arcane'/'Quandary' members) that seems to be getting very good reviews. Really good lead guitar work. It's available for free or pay what you want d/l from the band @ www.samvallen.com

Remarkably I do listen to music other than Nephew, though I think they're fucking cool (though Thorbear doesn't - but he doesn't like Alice in Chains either :P), but last.fm seems to have very selective scrobbling on this connection for some reason. *shrug*

Sahg III is definitely one of my fave albums this year. If I were going to that gig I'd just walk out after 'Enslaved' and 'Sahg'. The only good thing I can say about the new 'DB' is that I always liked Snowy Shaw's clean vocals. The music is just incredibly generic and pompous. Like, look, we are using an orchestra, aren't we classy and sophisticated? Sure, we can't write a tune worth a shit, and we don't really know how to do anything interesting symphonically, we just write some incredibly cliche scores and stick them over some boring guitar riffs so that people who don't know much about music will take us seriously as musicians. If you want good symphonic black metal, then 'Sigh' is where it's at this year.

No, I can't imagine you not buying the 'Enslaved'. Then again, I was surprised you hadn't run to the store on the release day, so :-D Dunno bout you, but almost all albums I was really excited about beforehand this year have turned out to be only average to good. The biggest exceptions are 'Enslaved' and the original 'Negura' lineup's last. Those are the only ones that not only lived up to expectations but actually exceeded them. On the plus side, some "new" bands have stood up to pick up the slack. That 'Galar' is pretty enjoyable, btw, thanks for the tip.

Yeah, I've always been a bad influence on people. Wish I had ordered the package with the 7" as well. From what I understand it contains a collaboration with Shining (Nor), the tech/jazz metal band, and a doom version of "Jotunblod". Would love to hear those tracks...

Yes, you should. It's a bit more viking/prog again as opposed to the full-on extreme prog of "Vertebrae", so perhaps in that sense you will be disappointed ;-) But all in all for the moment I'm inclined to say it's their best since "BtL". The prog's still there, but so is the epic viking feel, and Gruttle really excells here on clean vocals. Basically they've taken many of the best parts of all the different 'Enslaved' sounds over the years, and poured them into some particularly well-written and memorable songs. I'm leaning towards a 95/100 score right now, which for me is really about as good as it gets. Never scored anything higher than 98/100 anyway ;-) I just hope I'm not overselling it :-D

Actually, perhaps you might like to also check out http://www.last.fm/music/Ethereal+Blue I'm just listening to their new album for the first time (just discovered the band myself) and I think this might tickle your fancy in quite a delicious sort of way.

What ho, my Danish compadre and lover of things past? Sure, I'd be willing to give it a go. But be advised, I shall be on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean from 25 November till 21 December. I do intend to purchase a WiFi-equipped netbook for the trip, but I can't guarantee that I will make deadlines during that time ;-) PS: quick recommendation - http://www.myspace.com/officialdordeduh (ex-Negura Bunget guys. First 7" shows huge promise, imo. A little more "polished" maybe, than NB, but already miles ahead of what the new NB lineup put out). Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go count the days till the new Enslaved is released.

Well , Haunting Presence is the only album I have so I guess that's all I really have to recommend. I've heard some stuff from other albums that was good as well but I have no idea what albums they were on. =)

Well I'm glad you liked listening to my library. I of course don't have 3,981 bands in mine so I've been listen to my friend's libraries to try and expand a bit.

Aye, I like the energy and sing-alongability of good punk. I could never really get into hardcore, though. At least not the typical hardcore sound. And the Black Album is very true. Compared to St. Anger :-D

No worries, I'm used to being called such things. Although I get a lot less of it now that I no longer frequent message boards. And I agree with you on the rest. So, did you ever check that 'Ñu' out?
操作

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by that, but my compatibility with e.g. Bear and Coffinwood_Mill is also super, so I guess it's one of those "which of these 4 does not belong?" type things :p I'm happy to be an ass. I bring people together in their common dislike of me.

Hey there, Danish type person. Are you familiar with the Spanish prog hard/heavy band 'Ñu'? If not, maybe check them out.I've only listened to two albums myself so far, but I think you might like them. Big 'Tull' influence in there ;-)
