Oh I really love Mingus, yeah! Something wonderful happens when he plays, he seems to bring out everyone's most expressive playing, and you never really know what direction his music might take, for instance the Antibes live set. As an (ex) bass player wanting to get back into it Mingus speaks to me like no one else.... Really sad to read about your son, and that poem, which I have seen before, is a very human and beautiful thing.

Hi Red, where are you getting your scrobbleable Henry Cow tracks? I seem to get the same three Peel sessions tracks and that's about it, apart from my CD of Leg End, and as far as I know I can't scrobble from CD's in Windows Media Player. Having said that I am a bit of a dolt around computers!

Yeah, Sam is great! You might also like Grachan Moncur III, but if you put on Sam Rivers radio you'll probably hear a lot of good stuff... poppa_don has a lot of interesting sounds too, especially jazz from Africa. Happy listening

Thanks for the response RedEye, I was teasing you about the music, my brother plays the sax so I know what its like hearing practise, plus my neighbors kid has been playing violin since she was 4 and now she is 12.
