Just a bit of advice though...that tent has no waterproof rating and, if BOA is anything like last year, you WILL regret it. Take this one instead... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002HHXVFU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=ABTGQ0BCKDWQ4 Only £2 more and a high waterproof rating + dual layers. Take a couple of minutes more to put up but at least you won't risk sleeping in a swimming pool! Talking from experience here. ;)

Hey man, yeah, that's no probs. :) Don't send it to my flat though as I'm never in when the post arrives. I'll get my sister's address and see if she's ok with sending it to her place, if not my mum's will do. I'll pick it up when i pick up my BOA ticket. Let you know the address as soon as poss.

They're usually quite quick with immigration at Liverpool but yeah, discuss it nearer the time. Only take me about an hour to get there so you wouldn't be waiting too long even if I only left as you got through passport control. :)

Aye, its no problem. Will definitely be able to pick you up form the airport, just let me know the time you land. May not be able to get you back there though (depends if I'm travelling to my mate's place in York on the monday) but obviously I can drive you back to my place and from there its very easy to get to Liverpool...and it only costs £10.40 on the train. Petrol split sounds cool too. Save us both a bit of cash!

No probs man! Pleasure to help! Right, first off travelling from Liverpool to Lichfield should be no problem. You can get a shuttle bus from the airport to Liverpool South Parkway station (doesn't cost much) and from there you can get a train to Lichfield... although you may have to change once or twice. Not complicated though! The other way is you could get a train direct to Manchester and stay over at mine and I'll drive us to BOA on the Thursday. Might even be able to pick you up from the airport. Budget wise...well, this year I'm not taking as much thanks to moving flat and car tax payments but it all depends on how much you enjoy spending on merch! You can generally count on tshirts being £20 with hoodies £35-40. A programme with band times is a fiver. Drinks...if I recall correctly it was roughly £3.70 per pint for beer last year. Food varies but you're looking in the range of £3.50-£5.00 for burgers, noodles, sandwiches etc.

I haven't bought a ticket or tent myself yet so you're not alone! LOL. Congratulations on the grades! You finished for the year now? Yeah I moved back in January and am having to move again. Right pain in the arse! Iced Earth are fantastic live! Such a shame that Barlow is retiring though. They're playing a couple of dates over here in November. :) Brandon Sanderson/ The guy who is completing the Wheel of Time series? Cool! Nice to see what you look like finally! haha!

Bloodstock's not far off now man! Getting excited! How've you been btw? Course going ok? :) I'm in the process of moving house again... bloody landlady couldn't let me renew my lease because she needs the flat for herself. :/ You been to any gigs lately? I went to Rockhard festival in Germany 2 weeks ago...was absolutely brilliant! Finally saw Iced Earth with Matt Barlow and even met the guys afterwards. :D That you in your avatar btw?

Hey man! I'm actually off to see Delain and Serenity tonight!Next week Power Quest! \m/ I've heard that Lione's voice fit really well with Kamelot...guess it just proves what an awesome singer he is! Pretty gutted that Khan has retired though! My trip to the CoB show was fraught with disaster... arrived halfway through Ensiferum (who were nevertheless amazing) and Amon Amarth were cool although I lamented the lack of pre-fate of Norns material. Finally heard the new album though and love it! Made up for the lacklustre Twilight of the Thunder God. I spent CoB at the bar getting wasted though. Haha! Ended up losing my wallet on the tram home...luckily it was recovered and I didn't lose any money or anything. :)

Hey bud, aye I'm back! :D Just seen that announcement...BOA's lineup this year is its best ever, no doubt about it! Be awesome to see ya there! Btw, when you buy your ticket please use the link at the top of my profile to go to the site (and tell anyone else you know too!)... Joined the BOA affiliate programme with the website I write for so it just means we may earn some cash just for promoting the festival. :)

Hmmm...bit weird that! If I went to see Kamelot I'd want to see Roy Khan! You're Bloodstocking this year aren't you? Need to party together when Rhapsody play!

Hahaha! Mate, I have exactly the same opinion of the majority of British music fans. They're happiest when being told what to listen to by some idiot on the radio. ;) Get out to some rock pubs or find some people on here. That's how I met my metal posse! Hopefully I'm gonna be seeing Sonata too. :)

Hey mate! Finally some time to write a proper reply! Gutted that you didn't get to Helloween! Hope you have a better luck with CoB et al...beast of a lineup that! My next gig is possibly Winterfylleth on sunday but other than that Epica in March and Delain in april and then the COB, Amon Amarth gig. :) I saw Freedom Call last month in Manchester. They were amazing! Neonfly supported... a London power metal band. If you get a chance go see them! The show I went to in the Netherlands was amazing mate... the headliner pulled out but it was still the best show I've been to over there! How's things with uni? :)
操作
-
The_Mercian
Hey man, sorry its taken a while to reply! I was in the Netherlands at a gig when you sent that message and when I got back I had to move to my new house to start my new job in Bury and have been without the internet since! At my parent's place at the moment so I'll reply properly when I get back to my new place later!

Hahaha! London transport isn't too bad man... its the crowds of people I don't like! LOL. I've heard the new Sabaton yep. Realy good although I think I like The Art of War just a little bit more. Can't wait to *finally* see them live though!
操作
-
The_Mercian
Hahaha! Glad to hear you're enjoying it mate! Such a shame about the Blind Guardian gig though. That free time will be eaten up by uni eventually so make the most of it now! ;) I'm pretty good, cheers. Met a lovely girl who I'm seeing now (although not as often as we'd both like) and looking forward to seeing Sabaton on monday. My birthday is sunday too... 29! :O BOA looks magnificent so far and there's only been two bands announced! LOL. I'll almost definitely be there... only thing that will stop me is a lack of job!

Yeah London is a huge place but once you get the hang of the Underground and the buses you'll be fine. :) Wish I could get to that Blind Guardian gig... can't get the time off work though. :( Will be a fantastic gig though! Seems like you've chosen the best songs to start with for both Immortal and Satyricon. All more riff-based than straight-out black metal blastbeats! I've not heard Abigail Williams myself yet but I have the new album here for reviewing. People tell me they're a good band! I'm not doing bad though man, cheers! Just working and waiting for a couple of gigs. Freedom Call are playing in November and before that I have Sabaton/Alestorm and Watain/Destroyer666. We'll have to arrange to meet up some time... probably after Christmas when work starts to quieten down a bit would be best!

For sure man! Only 2 bands announced and already the lineup is better than this year's! :D You in London now? ...and is that SATYRICON I see in your recently played tracks...? :O
操作

The_Mercian
Yeah I wasn't happy as I missed 3 of the main bands I wanted to see (Doro, Leave's Eyes and Bloodbath) but I definitely made the right decision to leave when I did. I won't be at that Blind Guardian gig unfortunately. :( Can't get the time off work. Sucks a bit but I'm sure they'll be back. Power metal seems to be increasing in popularity in the UK lately. :)

BOA was a bit of a wash-out mate, literally. Torrential rain for thursday and friday. Bands were good though. Powerwolf were awesome! Unfortunately I went home ill on the saturday and i'm still recovering now. :( Think next year I will book into a hotel. Immortal announcement already has made me more excited for next year than I was for the whole of this year! Can't wait! Really hoping Rhapsody of Fire too... maybe someone like The Scorpions headlining... that'd be class! Review of BOA up here... http://www.ice-vajal.com/festivals/bloodstock.htm ... only first two days at the moment. Rest should be online tonight. :) Btw, Freedom Call are playing London on 5th November. thought you may like to know. ;)

Ah gutted man! That's so disappointing! We will meet up in London though...especially as I now have an idea of where to find cheap travel and accomodation down there! Hopefully you can come BOA next year and it will be a better lineup. Good luck with selling the ticket man. Let me know when you move over here!

He's gonna have a look for you man. Not sure if there'll be any left though because its coming to the end of the season. If not I'll have a look and get back to you on prices. May be able to get you one myself although I dunno how I'll carry it! xD Cool article btw! haha!

Wouldn't like to say man... I think the places near BOA will probably sell out of tents pretty quickly. I'll test my mate now and see if he can get a cheap one for you from the supermarket where he works and you can give him the money at BOA. :) Ryanair are a bunch of tools, its true. Less than 4 weeks now man! \m/

Everyone arrives on thursday man. ;) When you get there give me a text and you can come set up your tent with us (hopefully there'll still be room in the vicinity). Not sure what time I'll bethere yet. Have to try and get a lift... :/
操作
-
The_Mercian
It'll be a fair bit cheaper from Liverpool if you fancy going there instead. :) Flexible times would be better, especially as you don't know if your flight will be delayed. I don't know of any supermarket near BOA but there will be shops near Derby station i imagine. If not then there is a selection of different foods in the festival... I don;t take any food with me (just a bottle of water) and survive off noodles and burgers for the weekend. LOL

Man, any help you need just let me know! :) Best site for trains is http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ this link: http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/en/s/timetable/times shows the ttimes from Stansted Airport to Derby, if you leave at 12 noon. :) If you're confused just book your flights and let me know the time you land and I'll get you a list of trains. :)

I've already played through the expansion. It was great but I did miss the original characters. the new ones just weren't as fleshed out... although I did like the Elf lady, Velanna, and Nathanial Howe was a nice touch too. It was still awesome though! I've not played Oblivion yet but my mate is sending me his copy to play through soon. :)

Aye, just remember if you;re bringing spirits that glass bottles are not allowed so just transfer it to an empty soft drink bottle or something. :) At the moment I'm playing a lot of Dragon Age. Just bought all the downloadable content for it. :D I absolutely love the whole game... one of those I can complete and then start again! I've also been playing Viking: Battle for Asgard but the final boss has annoyed me.Other than that I'm slowly going through Halo Wars, GTA 4, Tomb Raider Underworld, Just Cause 2 and Hitman: Blood Money.

Aye, go for it mate. :) It's only longer than usual because of the international dialling code. :) I'll probably watch a few of the headliners (but not Opeth) or at least I'll be standing in th ebeer tent while they play! EIther that or I'll be in a coma somewhere from too much beer! Hahaha!
操作
-
The_Mercian
Excellent news man! I will pm you my mobile number in a sec so you can contact me at BOA. :) Dont worry at all about travelling to the campsite... all you have to do is get to Derby and there'll be plenty of people in bandshirts for you to follow! Think all the info about shuttles buses is on the website anyway. I'm pretty much all set now... just gotta stop buying games and save some merch/beer money! xD Aye...Opeth... I can't stand them tbh. Not really a fan of any of the headliners. Still, it will be a good weekend! I'll probably spend a bit of time in the Sophie tent this year as the lineup for it is looking pretty good!

Hey man, I'm good cheers! You? I bought my BOA ticket a couple of weeks ago but last year I only bought it a week befor ethe fest. Its very very unlikely to sell out (the organisers would be as surprised as the rest of us it that happened!). Wouldn't leave it too long just in case something goes wrong with the post but don't worry about it selling out as it won't! Fantastic to hear you're coming over though! Be great to finally meet you!

Awwh! You're so lucky to be able to see them live! I'm sure the concert will be amazing. ;D And yeah, I'm sure their other songs will slowly dwell on you in no time! Their music never gets old to me, and I hope you will feel the same! xD
