Yow made sure to ask: "Are there any Mexican children here tonight? Im all set to drive up to Quebec this Friday night to hear Mr. Yow and the boys! I have only caught them live once before - in Boston maybe 12 yrs ago? - and it was one hell of a good time

As I probably mentioned, jobs in general might be even harder to find in VT than other states, BUT there was that whole VT has the most libraries per capita factoid..... I still need to be making more $ than I am now to stay afloat. Here are 4 schemes Ive come up w/: 1) Get Switchback brewery to pay me to tattoo its logo in big letters on my back 2) Bike from VT to Wisconsin on a "Have Euphonium, Will Travel" (possibly solo) musical tour - I could raise $ for some sort of charity for miles travelled, and collect donations for myself on the way 3) Turn my new young adult puppy into a TV/movie Dog Star 4) Start a restaurant that features local wild mushrooms I suck at capitalism. The only one I could maybe get going before summertime would be the dog idea.... Also the founder of VT Pub & Brewery, Greg Noonan, died last week. You and I had a couple beers there a year ago when you visited. All beer enthusiasts of New England are sad right now.

Ill do anything w/in my very limited powers to go see JL in Montreal, but what (besides school) could possibly be stopping you from moving to Burlington????

Did you go see Rough Francis? They are from Burlington - Bobby Hackney does an afterschool program at the school (now "Academy") that our younger daughter goes to....

Nope: No money came..... It probably would have been a bad decision anyhow, since Cal and I are hoping to be in Albany not too late in the evening tomorrow night, so we have a bunch of "stuff" we need to get done today before we leave tomorrow, etc. Reality vs. fantasy! So it looks like I have started doing the same thing as you with my "events" section, but I will not miss that Nomeansno show for anything!

Well I did end up getting all 4 days (Thurs through Sun) off, so if my tax refund magically appears in my checking acct in the next couple days I might be crazy enough to drive out there! (checks mapquest)...Sixteen hours?? Why is our country so friggin immense.... I might have to switch to coffee for a couple days, huh?

Oh man do I ever want to see Hanson Brothers AND Nomeansno in Montreal this year. I would be more likely to actually attend the Deerhoof show in Chicago than the Usaisamonster show in Brooklyn b/c theres a three-day booze-a-thon in Albany I will be partaking in that weekend.... so its probably only a slim possibility, but you never know.

well dammit we should definitely try to catch up at some point if you're going to be in the city so much! not seeing much in common with you show-wise in the next couple weeks, though...

Will you really go see Deerhoof tomorrow night? Give me your report (w/pics if possible), especially if this is your first Deerhoof.... I remember you said you dont actually end up seeing some of the bands you hope to... I would never ask you to do anything that you think is wrong or bad : ) but shit, you can skip school once, right?? I mean, its Deerhoof.

Cal got a new job so that means we have a new woman living in the house with us - she has us as her new surrogate family and we dont get evicted, so everybody wins! Just a couple more weeks! There will hopefully be a performance of the illustrious Burlington hardcore band Slurred Speech on Halloween night, also my stepdaughters' father/wifey's ex always plays a show that night every year...... I feel like I would need to give you a taste of the citys best beers while youre around which would mean VT Pub & Brewery or American Flatbread (or both since they are right across the street from each other). Many possibilities!

Thanks so much for your nuptial blessings! It was the best. Two live bands, great food, tons of dancing, friggin transcendent experiance was had by about 120 people. The party just wont stop!

Three days from now Ill be a husband! We are going to video as much of the ceremony as we can and will youtube the best parts! I cant remember the second half of my bachelor party this past Sat. nite....
