On the "had to review those albums" thought - just realized that I don't even remember which label sent the last couple of albums to me, it's a real mess when you have to deal with several in a row. Found myself listening to that new Lyriel which gathered dust for quite some time already, and now I don't remember which label was I supposed to forward my review to, lol.

I agree, it maybe even became my favorite album by them along with "Blade of Triumph", it's really good. I liked Vesperian Sorrow, they have some cool atmospheric ideas that fit the black metal. Tidemann's solos are as good as they always were and they add something special in addition, wish there were more. :} All in all, if they polish the music a bit more I wouldn't be surprised to see them signed to a label soon. And no, I haven't seen your list so would you link me?

Oh, absolutely, you can call it the different one for me this year ;) Proved to be more refreshing than half the new albums I heard throughout the year as well. Be sure to let me know when you publish it although I can probably go with a blind guess on those four titles :)

I agree :) Great best of, the only bad thing is that having released eight amazing albums leaves you with no choise but to come up with a compilation that consists of eight CDs in order for it to do justice to the discography, haha. We'll see when the album comes out. Hopefully it'll be this year or at least by mid-2012, I so damn long to hear that one... a future diamond for sure, Empyrium always knew how to recreate such a mystic atmosphere. I'm sure that they'll be great live as well so keep me updated on that one! :)

Shut up. No way! Empyrium? Seriously?! That's like one of the greatest comebacks ever and 1 of 2 most anticipated as it comes to me. This and Psychotic Waltz and while they're both yet to announce their future plans, I'm all ears and hyped in advance :D "The Days Before the Fall" is a terrific song, brilliant. So I'll squeeze out every single word from you about their performance with(out) your permission! O:)

And hey, I'mma check out Year of the Goat's stuff even just for the name's sake! :D

Still waiting for some announcements, the rest is more or less on my event list here. Amon Amarth was all solid but the previous 1-2-3 were better, maybe... dunno, bit of a difficulty with Surtur here. Obscura is a MASTERPIECE, best tech death I've heard in years, actually. Right up there along with other top titles as SepticFlesh, Amorphis, Evergrey, WT, Turisas and now Rhapsody, to put it randomly. Loved Leaves' Eyes as well but I couldn't get all that much into Midnattsol so I'll give them more spins for sure.

No idea about Amorphis, but the wait is more than just simply worth it all. The review is in my journal if you wanna read it. And well, yeah, you either hate Amaranthe or love them entirely, there's no second opinion on the matter. While for me it was just the pleasant debut I expected it to be and pretty much the best in 2011 along with Demonaz and Brymir so far. As for the reviews, I see we agree on Demonaz and Sylosis at least :D And well, Amorphis, Rhapsody of Fire, Symphony X is all I can name right now - after all, those were amongst my most anticipated records and they should all be circulating as promos while we're writing here. I'm mostly disappointed by the new HammerFall and Norther, nothing cardinal. Any remarkable milestones on your list?

You heard the song "Vier Wande"? That's a live version. So I can tell they're good! You know in Iran metal music is illegal so it's so hard to have a good band and make good music. Last year so many good musicians arrested by the government and it's sad. But I can see metalheads are still trying to reach their goals! I'm so proud! because with all of these problems they're still good.
