First thing it reminded me of was Q without U ... noticed in the comments that they toured with them at some point. I'll definitely track down the album - hope the rest measures up to that first track .

Will need to pick up the Pulled Apart By Horses album. I hadn't heard about the Sparklehorse album. I knew he was supposed to have more or less finished an album before he died, but I hadn't heard if it was being released. Unless it's maybe the official release of the album/book he did with Danger Mouse & David Lynch last year. EMI wouldn't release it due to legal issues, so Danger Mouse just decided to leak the album and sell the book with a blank CDr which included a note saying - "For Legal Reasons, enclosed CD-R contains no music. Use it as you will."

Just realised how snobbish that last post sounded (I know I AM a music snob, but I didn't mean to be in that post). I haven't really paid too much attention to Green Day since Dookie, but they put on a great show last night. I'm just glad that I have kids who like stuff like Green Day rather than Pop X Idol Factor n' all that shite. It's just as well ... apparently adoption is a stressful process.

I know - I'm kind of shocked myself. Elliot really wanted to see them and they don't let 12 year-olds in by themselves (I'd probably be a fan too if I was 12). I would be neglecting my parental duties if I denied him that.

I recorded this stuff ages ago on an ancient version of Cakewalk, then mixed them much more recently using ProTools 7.3.

Yeah, there's a few labels that do that. Merge Records slip a nice little note into yer album sleeve with a code for downloading 320 kbps MP3s when you buy their vinyl. Quality, convenience and some nasty black wax all in the one package!
