Production is on-point (if it ain't madlib then you could've fooled me). I don't mind the lo-fi. Blu is raw on it and the features are limited and decent. Though as an album it does miss a feeling of progress and concept and that does make it feel all over the place. My thoughts are so-and-so on it, though I can't deny that it's unlike any other Blu album (like always).

Jeez, there's too many to recommend brotha. I'd say watch Kino's Journey if you're into Mushishi since they're both pretty atmospheric. Serial Experiment's Lain is kinda a similar but pretty trippy if you don't pay attention, haha. Telling me I gotta listen to Isaiah Rashad's EP subconsciously? Pushy pushy, lol. I'm thinking of going through PartyNextDoor's two albums tonite just for the hell of it.

Anilinkz has really good quality streams for new shows at least. I don't know, I just don't trust Crunchyroll. lol. It's not that Kiss Land is bad, it's decent but the mixtapes' production had more meat to them from how I listen to them. However I do like the singles for the new one, even the pop one Can't Feel Your Face.

Eh, I don't use Crunchyroll anyway, I usually go to free sites and buy them on BD or DVD. :P Ah that's nice. I hope it's better than KissLand, wasn't as good as his mixtapes. I'm more excited to see BigQuint's reaction to that album honestly. lol

Regardless to say I absolutely LOVE Below The Heavens. It's easily in my top 5 hip-hop albums of all-time if I'd have to construct a real one.

I used to share your opinion but the more I listened to independent projects the more I started to like them. Below The Heavens is a masterpiece but also it has an adolescent/young/coming-up-vibe too. I'm not saying that I don't like that vibe, but Blu's post-BTH output has been lyrically more mature and meta-analystic, which I just relate to better. It's a personal thing rather than a critical opinion.

I think GTBH definitely shows Blu's potential as an MC to the fullest extent. Right now my top 3 is 1. Flowers 2. Favorite Color 3. GTBH, but I haven't gotten into York properly yet and still have to listen to a bunch of Soul Amazing tapes and to Ucla. How about you?
