I'll check that out in a minute, it took a while for The White Stripes to grow on me, first song of theirs I heard was "The Hardest Button to Button". I quite like Vampire Weekend, they're awfully buoyant, have to be in the right mood for them though. I tend to listen, and this'll sound weird, considering all the other stuff I listen to, but I listen to Creedence Clearwater.

I'm on deviant too http://christopham.deviantart.com/ link to my gallery. So, I may have seen your work on there, if you'd like to send me a link back. Do you like The White Stripes then? I've been listening to Icky Thump a lot lately, the whole album, not just the song, I like "Catch Hell Blues" and "Rag and Bone" a lot. Black Keys I quite like too.

I hope I can make some music too, I've been adapting a poem I wrote, called "You're Not That Girl Anymore", it's sort of about how some people change, while others seem to stay the same, and can't let go of the past. It's hard to let go, when you love someone, and they don't love you back. Painting is something you can lose yourself in. I have a gallery online, full of my paintings, and writing. Just trying to see what people liked and disliked, so I could get better. Have you heard The White Stripes?

My voice could get better with practice, but I haven't got much range on it. I'm meeting someone who studies music at my college tomorrow, who's shown an interest in my poetry, as song lyrics. He sings, and plays guitar and piano, so he should be able to do something with it, maybe I'll give singing a go myself. My mum caught me singing a few times, and politely assured me it wasn't that bad... I've always drawn, and I've been painting for years. Love them both. :) Paolo Nutini, I saw a youtube video of him performing live in a shop, playing guitar, and singing "Funky Cigarette". It was magic. xD

I don't know, I write, I paint, I draw, but I can't say I'm relaxed when I do those things, really. I feel like I'm doing something I should be doing when I do them. Music inspires me to create. I suppose I feel relaxed, when I'm on my own listening to music, and singing. I'd love to sing. Properly I mean, you know, my own songs. Perform. Too cowardly though. And shit at singing. :D Besides, I haven't got the Rock-God look going here... ;p

I find the atmosphere in the studio at college a bit flat, people don't come in unless they have to, and there's no noise, or bustle. People just don't show any passion for what they're doing. I'm hoping it'll be better this year, but, to get to my point, I understand what you mean about the people around you not having any enthusiasm for the subject. I know some of the new first years from other courses, and they're a livelier bunch. To be honest, I think I need to liven up a bit too. I think I have, over the summer. Do you write much then? For pleasure I mean?

I did check it out, and it was good, I like a lot of weirdly different stuff. Guitar practice I never get time for, so I don't play as such, my calluses haven't even formed yet. The reason I'm practicing more now is because I've been writing poetry, and someone who studies music at my college has expressed an interest in songwriting with me. College hasn't started for me yet either, I've just been trying to get some answers about a film project I've been working on that's all. Anyway, it means lots of hanging around, waiting for phonecalls, and hassling people when I don't get them. Plenty of time to scour youtube for new music anyway! :D

I'll check that out in a bit, just got some phonecalls to make with college work, and need to have a practice on my guitar first, and I need a cup of tea of course. I'd also recommend "Hand Me Down" and "Two Doors Down" by Mystery Jets. "Flakes" is beautiful, but it's a bit of a departure from their usual fare. Also, "Young Love" by them. Brilliant songs all, in my opinion, but it's all subjective with music, like all art.

Thanks! I don't know if you'll like them, or if you've heard of them, but I'd recommend Chapel Club, particularly "O Maybe I", "Bodies", and "After the Flood". I like their whole album "Palaces" though. :D Also, I'd recommend "Flakes" by Mystery Jets, the Florence and the Machine version's better. :)

I haven't seen Breakfast Club, I love "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure, and find "A Forest" by them good for working to. Ferris Bueller was where I first heard "Twist and Shout", by The Beatles. I love The Rolling Stones too. "Brown Sugar", "Sympathy For the Devil", "Gimme Shelter"... loads of other good ones there.

For me right now, it's been Florence, since her new single "What the Water Gave Me" came out, The Smiths and Morrissey are constants, never out of my head, Joy Division, Chapel Club, Coldplay, Adele and the White Stripes. But something new will come along, or I'll rediscover someone, and I'll be all over them like a rash for weeks then. The Cure, there's another one I've been doing to death lately. Eighties movies! Blade Runner! Awesome... two I love and haven't watched for ages are Weird Science and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Classics. :D

Joy Division I'm getting into, Florence and the Machine I'm in love with (well, not so much the machine...), Morrissey (of course), Adele I'm quite liking right now, The White Stripes, The Black Keys... I like quite a bit of eighties music, but for the life of me can't stop listing once I start, so it's best I stop now.

people think history is most of all, remembering dates...but they are all wrong, i never had an exam that my teachers were asking about a date especifically..so if you know the event, you dont need to know precisely the date...a writter?..thats interesting...and about what you gonna write?
