Lisa Ono / 小野リサ Ja] (b. 1962, in São Paulo, Brazil), is a popular Japanese-Brazilian bossa nova singer. At the age of ten she moved to Tokyo, with her family - then on, her time equally split between Japan & Rio de Janeiro. Despite her short time living in Brazil, she became an 'mbp ambassador', to Japan - influenced by her father, who owned a club whilst in Brazil & was Baden Powell de Aquino (better known as Baden Powell)'s agent.

Yeah. i know where you're coming from about the CocoRosie/Cat Power statement. Cat Power will always be a classic for me, but CocoRosie comes off to me as more of a "living" band that comes out with new/exciting material more frequently than Chan. It must be, also, something to do with the addictivity of CocoRosie's music. Maybe that's just the way the cookie crumbles, you know? Don't get me wrong, i love them both.

Love the new album, my god. Took a few to grow on me though. Whiteman on Art House Director is fantastic, likewise Emily Haines on Sentimental X's. And Sweetest Kill, it's a very vulnerable kind of song. Overall not what I was expecting but I love it, especially after seeing them play most of it live. Have yet to hear the EP tho! Is it good?

oh wow, I haven't listened to Black Moth Super Rainbow in a long time, I'm going to play Dandelion Gum now... Perhaps it is because I've listened to Bitte Orca so many times (I'd have a higher play count on last.fm, but I have the vinyl and it sounds so amazing on the record player) and their sound has become "normal" to me now, but when I was listening to Rise Above earlier, I was actually enjoying it (it's no Bitte Orca, but I'm definitely going to play it some more and let it really grow on me)

Thanks for your comment. I hate sounding like one of those people who jumps onto a band's new album but dislikes the rest of their stuff (a lot of people that got into Animal Collective via Merriweather are that way, and they can be annoying). Bitte Orca just blew me away on the first listen (and I had given Rise Above several tries before I heard the new one, but couldn't get into it... although I'm starting to warm up to it). Nowadays, Animal Collective is my favorite band, but I remember back when Sung Tongs was first released, and it took a lot of patience at the time to fall in love with their sound (and the rest of their earlier stuff). I think the Dirty Projectors are similar to that (not immediately accessible and requires some patience to adapt to a new kind of sound... but once you do, you're hooked for life)

Het there I'm Anna and I play music under the name Amorr and I've noticed that you've had a little listen to some of my stuff so I'd firstly like to thank you because I know that 15 year old singer song writers aren't really top of most people's music taste so thanks for giving me a chance and having a listen. I just thought I'd let you know that I've got a new song up, it's not mine it's a cover but it's pretty different to the original so yeah it would be awesome if you'd have a listen and say what you think :) http://www.last.fm/music/Amorr/Drip+Dry/Radio+Nowhere+%28Bruce+Springsteen+Cover%29
