The "cabaret" years 😬. I find it almost comical that Commercial Zone ultimately developed into this sterile nonsense and IMO Gary Barnacle should be shot for his work on "This Is Not" This Is Not A Love Song. However, The Order Of Death is actually an improvement on its Commercial Zone counterpart and the album is worth purchasing solely on this merit 😂

This was the first PiL album I ever heard. I happened this movie from like the early 90s about some killer robot that terrorizes a woman in her apartment in a dystopian future. It was a pretty good sci-fi b-movie. It used "THe Order of Death" as its title song. I was immediately hooked. To my surprise, I found out it was an actual track from a band and not just music for a soundtrack. I was quite surprised to find out that Johnny Rotten had a career post Sex Pistols, so I downloaded the album immediately. I loved it and still do. I'm quite aware that it is nowhere near PiL's best record but hearing this band for the first time through that fantastic song and this quirky little record, it was quite the unforgettable experience.

Movie is Hardware (1990). I just rediscovered this song from said movie. There's a nice montage vid on YT with the song and clips from the movie. The song fit perfectly in that movie.

Still don't know what to make of this album. I like Bad Life, Solitaire and Order of Death...other than that, bleh.
