It feels really good to be able to appreciate the demos on this EP now that I'm a proper fan of this band. It's nuts to me just how much Modest Mouse had it together when they were only starting out

honestly this release is such a perfect encapsulation of their sound to me. it's what got me into them, and it has some of their very best songs, maybe even some of the best songs ever made in general. i love you modest mouse

They're reissuing this apparently. Hopefully on CD as well as vinyl as I don't collect it.

Lent this CD to a pothead dormmate in '97 and, unsurprisingly, never got it back. Bonus points for having a bridge from my early hometown on the cover. Too bad the Mouse never lived up to the flashes of brilliance they displayed on this EP and on This Is A Long Drive.

It took me a while to enjoy the "live" tracks, but this is one of the best records I've ever heard :) Maybe someday I'll be lucky enough to find a CD of it I won't have to trade my arm/leg for.

I love this so much, Novocain Stain, Broke and then Whenever I Breath Out is an amazing combination of tracks. Probably my three favourite MM songs. Also, like that guy below says the first 5 tracks are recorded in the studio and tracks 6-11 live in Isaac's Garage.

oh yeah, found a mint one for 45$, and he shipped to Europe too, arrived today and it made my day :D now I can listen it without feeling sorry for shady acquired music =)

yeah so both edit the sad parts' are the same right? save for a couple minutes of strangely placed dead air at the end of the first one? ps: prolly my favourite release too, if not the fruit that ate itself.
