I really find LCD soundsystem nostalgic in the sense because it captures a moment in time where everyone was absorbed into party culture, getting wasted or high, sleeping with college age girls and later in the morning realising how much of a degenerate you were becoming at that time. It's a very 2000s feeling that I really like, also they have amazing music.

why is it that, out of all the bands out there, LCD Soundsystem has such a strong emotional impact? even after listening to the heaviest Swans material and countless songs about loss and misery and being left indifferent, it’s always James Murphy’s music that makes me rapidly spill my feelings through my eyeballs. No other band has come close to doing that, it's insane how big of an emotional impact music can have on the brain

From their Instagram: "So there's a new lcd song called x ray eyes. it's the first single of what's shaping up to be a new album. don't ask me what that is, because we're still working on it. but it feels good to be putting out new music. we made a run of silkscreened 12"s that will sell at the upcoming LA and NYC shows, and DFA will have a limited grip of them, but don't freak out if you don't get one because there will be a more readily available commercial release of the same record when we can get it together. we just made a pile of white labels and are screening 100 at a time for each gig. It's a short lead time thing. and it's fun. but, no, there's no finished LP yet. but when we're not playing shows, it's getting closer and closer to completion. so that's the news. anything else you hear is bullshit speculation. go vote. j"

i think the outro and percussion of the dub remix would go very well with the original song, it would make it feel less monotonous

the whole thing about this band is that, they always reminded me of a character like Ted Mosby, a guy in NYC in his 20s and 30s, getting drunk every single weekend for no reason. Just has something very 2000s about it.

When I was younger I liked some songs but thought it was too electronic and modern for me. Now I'm older and I'm getting a lot of classic influences when listening to him like Bowie, Iggy Pop and even Beatles.
