Radio Silence, the award-winning magazine of literature and rock & roll, is throwing a release party for their long-anticipated third print issue. The event will feature intimate, unique performances of music and literature by a celebrated line-up of artists. Every attendee will receive a copy of the new 180-page issue of Radio Silence.
The program for the evening includes brief performances and collaborations by:
Stephin Merritt of Magnetic Fields;
legendary rock critic Greil Marcus;
Tanya Donelly of the Breeders, Throwing Muses, and Belly;
best-selling author Rick Moody;
Sam Davol of The Magnetic Fields
Matthew Friedbergerr of The Fiery Furnaces;
cult-favorite author Sam Lipsyte;
alt-country hero Jim White;
rock journalist, biographer, and musician Sylvie Simmons;
and Brooklyn’s Golden Suits.
Radio Silence is a San Francisco−based media company that publishes a digital and print magazine of literature and rock & roll, puts on live events with writers and musicians, and as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, they help preserve arts education by raising funds to buy books and musical instruments for under-served youth. Awarded “Best of” by San Francisco magazine and “1 of the 10 Best New Magazines in the Country” by Library Journal, Radio Silence also received this year’s Pushcart Prize.
