We are pleased to welcome back local instrumental powerhouse PELICAN to the Empty Bottle - their first show back at the club since they have achieved the hallowed mantel of having a PELICAN burger named for them at Kuma's Corner. Having recently finished new recordings on the West Coast, we're expecting the behemoth's from last years' City of Echoes, tunes from their 09 released Southern EP, Ephemeral, and this fall's What We All Come to Need. The new recordings find the group maturing both musically and philosophically, showcasing "more twists and unexpected turns; songs with more of a narrative or lyrical feel." Joining them will be west coast heavies BLACK COBRA. Supporting their latest Southern Lord release Chronomega, the group plays sludgy and thick fuzzy riffs that will stick to the soles of your shoes and break your legs. On tour this winter with BLACK COBRA and PELICAN are Boston-based heavy-weights DISAPPEARER. Playing songs off their recently released Magic Bullet Records' The Clearing and new songs not yet recorded, this ear-plug recommended tour wraps up their December run at the Empty Bottle tonight.
