Sucks that you were so exhausted, I was pretty anxious of the same thing happening to me. I'd definitely say that their performance on the Saturday was one of the best gigs I had ever seen, such a terrifyingly good performance. Highlights: Hangedup, Deerhoof, Marissa Nadler, Land of Kush, Scout Nibett, Boban i Markovic Orkestar (was maybe even more joyous than a Beirut gig?) , Tindersticks. I was definitely bummed out to miss the Berg Sans Nipple and Black Dice.

It was by far the coolest and best metal gig I've ever been to, but a big part of me was secretly wishing that it was just Phil on his own with an acoustic guitar. Did he do the whole black metal thing when you saw him?

No way, going to gigs alone has a crazy amount of merits! Most importantly that you don't need to spend the entire time secretly worrying that your friends aren't enjoying it as much as you are. If you like you can try but fail not to appear too awkward whilst looking around the room and if you spot me then we can chat awkwardly about Adam Crisp because talking to strangers from lastfm is strange.

I see you're also going to the Mount Eerie gig in Brighton. That is cool.
