in that same category is magnetic fields with "69 Love Songs," definitely check that out. i see only one play for timber timbre, so be sure to check out their full length LP Hot Dreams as a whole, I think it is one of the better projects of 2014 for some folk, check out Bill Callahan. His instrumentation is very unusual, but it is wonderful and his baritone voice is amazing. since you like of Montreal and animal collective so much, i thought I'd recommend you some neo-pyschedilia. Check out Grandaddy with their album "Sophtware Slump." it has wonderful melodies and it has some very emotional lyrics check out King Creosote's team-up with Jon Hopkins: "Diamond Mine," too. I think it is somewhat slept on, but its a wonderful folk record with ambient influences in there. For some abstract hip-hop, check out DangerDoom with "The Mouse and The Mask," I think it is awesome. I hope you find some good music from my list, cheers.

yo, thanks for the recs! Those are some artists that have been in my library for a while but I didn't get into yet, so I will soon and Ill let you know my experiences :) As far as I can tell we listen to a lot of the same stuff, but I found some artists/albums you havent listened to yet and might like: You know Destroyer's Kaputt, and I know, it's great, but don't sleep on his albums Destroyer's Rubies and Your Blues - they're pretty awesome too, I think I don't see a whole lotta soul in there - some Marvin Gaye, which is great - , so I don't know how much you like the genre as a whole. Regardless, I think ANY music junkie should check out Stevie Wonder's work in the 70's. I highly recommend you his 1973 album "Innervisions." It has great melodies, wonderful production and Stevie's voice is just out of this world :) Check out Camera Obscura with "Let's Get Out Of This Country," which is a really fun, quirky, easy-to-get-into indie pop album.

Really really glad you liked Jens Lekman, he's really one of my all time favorites and I've never felt he's gotten the recognition he deserves. Get what you're saying about Asobi Seksu and Cocteau Twins, but to each his own :) I loved the UMO and New Order songs, haven't heard either artists at all before and now really want to get into their discography. I wasn't a huge fan of the Nico song. I could tell it was absolutely beautiful and great it just wasn't really my cup of tea. Thanks again for the recs <3

no way! AnCo was one of the best shows I've ever seen. If you even remotely like them, you'd love it. And i know right?!! I am starting at uva in the fall and I bought tickets to see them in Saxapahaw, NC...(4 hour drive). I'm going with one of my friends. Definitely worth it. Hopefully they add tour dates to actual cities instead of random country towns lol
