Well the first band I was really into was Caladan Brood. They only have one album but it's still my favorite BM. Their sound is noticeable because it's very medieval, epic stuff. Summoning was their original influence and they based all their albums on LOTR. So the album sounds like the soundtrack to something like. Caladan Brood has pretty clean production for BM and they have amazing clean singing that makes it more accessible to so they would probably be a good place to start. If you don't get it immediately, don't give up because it likely will take a bit of work to get into the genre, if you're willing to try. Very rewarding once you do though.

Hard genre to get into. I've only been on the BM train for like a year but it's becoming a favorite genre of mine. Mostly dig the really melodic or atmospheric stuff as compared to the old evil shit, but it's all good to me.

That sucks. I'm very fond of them. I've been on a big old school death metal and black metal kick lately. Death, Morbid Angel, Enslaved, etc.

Cool let me know what you think. They also did a very cool cover of Lana del Rey's "Born To Die"

Ummmm how about this unsigned band, Wildways (formerly called Sarah Where Is My Tea, I know terrible name), they're kind of somewhere between metalcore and melodic hardcore but I really like them. Look up their video for "The Canvas" and if you dig that then the album "Love And Honor". They're russian though so if you watch "The Canvas" don't be too bothered that the lyrics aren't in perfect english.

If you want stuff similar to Municipal Waste I'd recommend Iron Reagan (complete with Municipal Waste members) and Gama Bomb.

Kalapana's "Naturally" has gotten steady local radio air play over the years, probably because it sounds like a love song, but is about Gravity and an unlucky hang glider pilot. Still, the song soars on Kalapana's harmonies, as well as being a vocal showcase for Mackey Feary, and, later, Malani Bilyeu. I've considered it to be an "I'll Fly Away" kind of song, elegaic or nostalgic., depending on the time and place.

opening credits? well, i don't remember any song played that time, so idk ;) yess, Drive has very unique vibe, it's kind of oldschool i guess (well, it's the only word that comes to my mind when i think of it). and speaking of ryan gossling - to be honest, at first i didn't like him after watching the notebook, but after THIS movie, i reaaaally started to pay attention to what is he doing. and i'm looking forward to his next movies. my new, amazing discovery is ezra miller - have you heard of him?

hm, i think both. score suits the movie very, very well (by the way cliff martinez was once a member of rhcp :) ), so when you like drive, it's hard to not like its soundtrack. it has sooo cool vibe in it - i really instantly fell in love with it :) and the elevator scene... it's dazzling! and you? ryan gosling fan? :)

but you know i have some hope for klinghoffer too - he's kinda frusciantes padawan ;) and altough you can't hear his whole talent on "i'm with you", it's worth listening to their b-sides - josh is much more handy there :) ex. on "strange man". well, at least i like him more than navarro :)

yes! i literally love them - chili peppers were my very first "big concert experience" when i was like 16 :) so it was the first and also the last time when i had opportunity to see frusciante live. and mars volta are just amazing! i went to see them last year and was even more amazed than after listening to them on cd. still can't believe they had broken up this year. speaking of me - i'm fine :) finally we've got wonderful weather in poland - sun is shining, birds are singing - what more could i wish for? :) and what about you?

Oh hiiiiii! I've been good! Busy as usual, school is wearing me out, but I've been having a lot of fun with friends lately - I just got a new iPod with a camera so I've been spending a lot of my time snapchatting and facetiming :) so with that and Netflix and school, I've had very little time to get on here. Anyways, how have you been?

It was awesome! Nope, I saw him in July at a festival I went to, but I didn't get nearly as close as I did this time, and so this was a much better experience! He is really great live though. He's a funny little guy. Well yeah, I do get that! Sometimes the winter can be so dreary. I don't love the days that have grey skies and everything looks so depressing and bleak.. so days like that, yeah I would prefer summer. But then snow comes and I love winter again :) sunshine is always nice though. We have some pretty sunny winters here! If my winters were rainy I wouldn't love them as much though, because then you would be wet all the time and so you would be extra freezing. I hate when I go outside and my hair is wet and it freezes like a popsicle.. That's never good! I do love sandals and shorts and tshirts, but I've been wearing them so much lately I need a change. So I welcome sweaters!

Oh it was amazinggggggg! Well I of course couldn't sleep the night before, although I had no idea then that I was going to be ten feet away from him! It was at one of those festivals where everyone just crowds together all squished up so you have no room, and usually I'm able to get relatively close, but I got there early and I was able to squeeze my way to the front! I was freakingggggggg out. Plus the people at the front of the crowd were so much fun! If only I could've had some alcohol haha. Oh wow, 3 weeks off? That must be nice! Well.. I just don't like how hot it is down there. I don't like places like that, I need my winter. So that's the main reason I wouldn't want to live in the south, I love 5 degree winters. It's a nice state to visit but I couldn't live there. No, there really isn't any particular reason hahaha. It's just not really my type of place, but it is a lovely city! So I'm sure you will enjoy your time there.

Fun stuff is always good! Especially when it involves seeing Andrew Bird at the very front of the crowd :) Oh wow, New Orleans? That's a pretty big change! You said you're in Portland right? That's a huge difference. New Orleans is really really cool though. 43 hours is a super long drive, especially by yourself! I would hate that so much! But once it's over you'll enjoy yourself I'm sure. I personally would not want to live in New Orleans, it's cool but not really my type of place to stay for too long (it is much much much better than living in Florida though, I would neverrrrr want to live in Florida). Although after a while I would probably grow to love it.
