Depends on a lot of things, but at least it means I get to put off all that mortgage-career-household guff a little bit longer. I know I'm going to miss England hugely, but hopefully given a long enough goodbye my feet'll have time to get nice and itchy! What do you miss most? Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention that my MA dissertation ended up being on DeLillo, which I thought you'd appreciate... and yet I *still* haven't properly read Underworld. I really shouldn't feel as proud of that as I do.

Hello! My god it's been a while. Well, let's see if I can compress it all into this little box, an achievement likely to be both satisfying and a little depressing... Maybe I should stick to the main facts: well, I finished the MA, remained in Brighton though, discovered/bought/saw a LOT of music, got into post-rock hugely yet retained my penchant for the indulgent singer-songwriter acoustic guitar noodling, took up jam-making but still can't knit. Also acquired a kitten, who's absolutely gorgeous but a proper menace. Currently the kitten and I live in a little studio flat with a garden and no television, but we manage to entertain ourselves with webcomics and birdwatching. And you? Which country are you in now, you capricious thing?

well i would say "substance" (the greatest compilation of all time, of course!) but that would be cheating, so "power, corruption and lies" it is. "Technique" is my second, as its their most consistently perfect album, but the peaks of P,C & L top it I reckon. Has there ever been a better album opener than "Age of Consent"?!?

Hello! Sorry for being usless at replying. That's so exciting! When does her job start? Sorry, i'm not much help, all my friends are living with their parents so don't know anyone who's looking. Has she looked on gumtree? Tell her to def give me a call when she gets her + we'll meet up. Aha, gilmore girls gets all the haters in the end. Diane used to hate it too + i got her hooked. Very pleased to hear i've worked my magic on you too! Cliches? What do you mean? She may be irritating (and speak very fast) but her wit + references are pretty original. Did you get a job offer?? That interview i went for was for a medical journal publisher. They didn't want me. But have funnily enough applied for another, at least medical publishers seem to be hiring if others aren't! Yes, driving is fun, I have a lesson tomorrow morning and I am determined to make it go well - there's one junction I ALWAYS have trouble at, but it's the main one by my house so were I to drive there'd be no avoiding it! yea, my jb is really starting to suck. WOkring christmas eve AND nye. Basically every day from about 13th dec to the new year, except christmas day and boxing day. How rubbish! At least I'll be rolling int he benjamins. Will! well did I not tell you, I got that job in the department store, I work in the cokwares/baking/china and crokcery bit. So that's ok. Minomum wage though, and it's only about 24 ish hours a week. So that's a bit lame. But it's only a christmas job, before I go away somewhere (where?!) in January, so I do like the flexible aspect of it. And it's fairly easy, not too draining or anything. It gives me time to do other stuff too. And I gather you have a job too! who? what? where? why? when? how? Sorry I haven;t been in contact - no great changes since we last spoke. Although I have started driving lessons too, did I mention that? I've had about four - really fun. I enjoy it :) I've already been going at 45 mph, and 4th gear. yayayayayay! I'm fine out in the countryside (ie five minutes from my house) but as soon as the trafficbuilds up I get scared and lose it and keep stalling. It went ok,I have another interview for the same job tomorrow morning (ie one with HR and one with the actual manager of the area that I'd be working in); I had a secod interview today at the same shop, but for a different bit. I know, I'm SO SO SO bored. ah must be amazing to be off school. i wish unis here were only 3 years long. what are you doing to celebrate? i wanna go crazy the summer of my senior year. although to be honest i'd probably be stuck in shock for a bit. not having to go to school everyday would feel odd.... anyway, yeah the lineup's so awesome! and everytime i find a band on the lineup i don't know, i end up liking their stuff after a few listens. this summer definitely has some sweet festivals. chicago is suprisingly cheap for me (only $200!) but no one's willing to see the show with me (most of them because they're too lazy to get off their asses and make plans). i'll be online a bit more these next two weeks so maybe you can distract me from my studies.

Sorry my response took a while! Hope everything's been going well for you meanwhile... Noble Beast is £4.99 in Resident at the moment (which is ridiculous considering I paid $30 for it in New Zealand) so it's a good time to get it. I'm currently working as a carer for a woman with MS, which is fantastic as the work's varied, rewarding and not in a call centre! I'm also going to Beachdown with her in August (I get a free ticket AND paid over the weekend...) which should be interesting, as The Fall will be there. Don't them as well as I should, but planning to rectify that before then! Apart from that I have no festivals planned, not even Great Escape; you aren't doing that either, are you? Music isn't nearly as good this year, so I'm planning on staying in and watching Eurovision with James. We are the cool kids. Anyway, I hope Monday isn't looming too ominously for you. Any plans for your (possibly last) summer of freedom?

Hello! I'm slightly addicted to the new Andrew Bird album so would definitely recommend it - any reason for your dalliance in choosing whether or not to get it? And what have you been listening to recently? I discovered the Leisure Suite's album thanks to it being on in Resident one day, and I think you'd like them, really small unsigned UK band that makes very pleasant music. As for me, I'm good, have a new job that I love and slightly fearing returning to academia, though luckily that's not until October. 6000 to go isn't bad, think I was in the same position last year so be reassured that it's doable! When's the deadline this year? I'm tempted to go onto campus and smugly laze around watching all the third-years panic trying to find a printer.
