I actually haven't heard the Panda Bear record, but that's because I don't care for Animal Collective for the most part...and I don't think Okkervil River will survive the year-end top ten, though I love those guys as I live in Austin, too, and have followed 'em since about 2001.

You need to check out the new Interpol...I was disappointed the first listen, but it's grown on me a lot. It's like the perfect balance between TOTBL and Antics. The songs all have that same brooding quality as TOTBL, but with the accesibility of Antics. I'll see if you're on AIM over the next few days.
