i never really fucked with drake, his rap style didn't really appeal to me, but i think this album was dope and he really came thru with some good shit. the second half of the album was my favorite, after Hold On, We're Going Home the beats went hard af. plus that ending track w/ the weeknd is killer

Ahh well you have more willpower than me haha, i snatched the 192 version. Excellent record imo. Love his flow on The Language. Wu-Tang Forever has some of the best production i've heard on a hip-hop track this year. Lyrically I think NWtS isn't quite on-par with Take Care but it definitely has its moments, Connect is probably the strongest in that respect. Overall I think the "tough Drake" material really rounds out his song catalogue. This tour is going to be amazing. Let me know your thoughts once you've dug into it properly ^___^

I actually haven't listened to Arca yet! But it's on my short list. Haven't heard Twigs, either. You may know more experimental electronic than I do! :) From this year I would check out the Katie Gately EP, Inga Copeland - Don't Look Back That's Not Where You're Going EP, and James Holden - The Inheritors. Cut Hands - Madwoman EP was nice too. I've also really been into Four Tet - There Is Love in You (2009). Not really experimental, but great all the same. If I come across more or remember something I haven't thought of, I'll give you a shout!

Ahh i'm jealous that you got to see Shlohmo (I was at beach house). He played up here in SF earlier this year and it was phenomenal. Death Grips, Waxahatche, and TV on the Radio were my favorites overall. Sunday was kind of a wash for me because my roommates left the AC in our motel room blasting all Saturday night and I had a throat infection by morning. I couldn't smoke nearly as much pot as I wanted to and my heart just wasn't in it. MBV was outstanding end to the festival though. "When you sleep" is my favorite song by them and it cut me to the core when i heard it :')

Hola! How was your FYF? I wanted to hit you up on Saturday but stupid Verizon shut down data for everyone in the park so I couldn't get in touch with anybody unless i had their number already.

The new Earl Sweatshirt album is a winner. So is the new Run The Jewels album if you hadn't heard that already. I've actually been listening to a lot of older stuff lately though. A lot of Silver Jews, Smog, June of 44, etc.

If you can into UK bass/garage then I would suggest Joy O, Horsepower Productions, and Submerse.

I think it's another masterpiece; it got great reviews as well. But, just as my opinnion, those are objective anyway, so just listen to it if you have the time! All I can say is that you can hear influences from the 70s in some parts. Might be quite different from the rap you've been listening to, but looking at your list something entirely different shouldn't be a problem =p
