Hi, we just have to wait for the last.fm team to finish doing the website, then I think they gonna repair their API serices, and everthying will work like before. Till that time, the charts will have incorrect results :(

Thanks, It seems to be working now.

Yes, Vince. I'm 23. Either I have to find a way where my real age isn't mentioned or I get to the age of my choice, and right now it's 23. :) Hope you had a great birthday.

I was reading something that suggested Berne's sound would somehow be muted by big bad ECM. Clearly that didn't happen. Another gem from Tim. Heavy rotation on the Stew/Negro Problem record as well.

Running Berne/Roberts @ work. Not sure it will make me popular, but a helluva piece of music to accompany Friday afternoon data backups..

Wow, got some amazing boots on your blog, gotta free up some space :)

Thanks for the link! I've gone up to 800 apparently ;-)

Good to be on board. Turns out that my last.fm soulmate is Plong42!

That's the great thing about music, no matter how much you know there is always so much more out there waiting for you! Guess you could say that about life as well. By the way, how do you calculate that super eclecticity score?

Good taste, as usual. Going to have to give some of the artists I don't recognize a spin!

Not quite 24/7, but close I suppose. 15 hours a day? Anyway, the explanation is that I manually scrobble my iPod occasionally, and there were 400+ tracks posted today, probably a week worth of tunage. That skews the numbers, I think the average track count per day is 80 or so.

yes i am a voracious listener! constantly trying to (re)discover new things.

what's new my friend? long time no connect.

4,048 artists! You got me beat by 1,048.

Hey, good point about the Christmas music skewing my stats. I'm not sure I'd bother altering anything - at least not until next December. :)

I know Richard Thompson (and Linda too!), I just have not listened much to them in the last couple of years. There are a couple of Richard Thompson's on my iPod, but you are right, it's been a while!

Have a divine '09! May it be filled with finger-snapping, head-banging, rump-shaking goodness!

Your new avatar is intriguing.

Oresteia did indeed kick ass. I got to see it twice because my wife helped produce it. First time through I found the long recitatives with solo voice to be frustrating, but once I knew the deal the second time was bliss. The production was cool, too. I wrote a somewhat dumb blog entry on my first reaction: http://www.davesmey.com/personal/photos/concertblog/concertblog.htm

hi, you listen to a real variety of music! I notice you've been listening to the IHM comp, nice to see someone is! (I've got a track on there)

I think I googled you and saw you had some posts on the Organissimo forums...I think the old Blue Note BB crowd moved there after BN shut down their forums...My memory is hazy. You were in grad school in Houston, I know, and then were at Goddard out east. Now your last.fm profile says Canada. Is that where you make your home now or are you a Canuck who came to the States for school and work?

OMG, Vince. Re-reading some of those rmb threads via Google Groups takes me back! All of those names come back to me: R. Lynn Rardin, Jack Woker, Walter Davis, Dave Royko, Doug Wamble, et al. Here you corrected me: http://tiny.pl/2tmq And here's a reference I myself made to the Houston avant fest: http://tiny.pl/2tmx

Actually this was the post I remember...http://tiny.pl/2tx3

Vince, I remember you from rmb back in the day. I specifically remember this post: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.music.bluenote/browse_thread/thread/ca1014932bb6b4fe/48db50120c833cda?hl=en&lnk=st&q=kargatis+debris#48db50120c833cda about Debris, Splatter Trio, et al. at a Houston avant fest you were part of.

Hey Vince, I'm always amazed by the six degrees of musical seraration that happens with these meeting places... I came across your profile while browsing Dennis Gonzalez's site here at LAST*FM. I'm a huge fan of his music! Regards, Ron!

Yeah, I'm enjoying Pace Yourself! I like how the band sounds a little more like a normal jazz group. Tim Berne is #1 for me right now.

Yeah, I saw the Coup at a small street fest, summer 2006, and was totally knocked out by their stage presence -- not just Boots, but the whole band. I proceeded to mainline everything I could get my hands on. Having trouble finding the early albums though.
