The Stepkids at Knitting Factory this Saturday, and Caveman next Friday at Bowery Ballroom are a couple I'm planning to check out. Also next Friday Ava Luna has a show with Total Slacker and Caged Animals at Shea Stadium...and Liam Finn, who I've heard is great live, has a residency every Monday this month at Rock Shop...

were you there? There was a point where I was more entertained by people in the crowd, but I liked the way the electric marimba player went at it, and Spencer's got a great vibe. The flickering yule log backdrop was also a nice touch, haha.

oh yeah! they played more old songs and the set wasn't as short. I was also lucky enough to meet them after and hang out at their afterparty...the best night of my life so far this year :)
