i was intrigued enough by your description of Young Ejecta's live performance to look it up on Youtube. couldn't find any videos of it, sadly. the ones from their other shows are all standard stuff, there's a guy rocking the laptop while the singer is dancing around the stage. kinda like a mild version of Crystal Castles. however, the show you've been to sounds more like PC Music concept, with Ejecta's erotica gimmick added on. perhaps they saw that QT gig at SXSW and tried to emulate it? i just heard a record by Weresquatch. it made we wanna take a shower. i do not like the "kill the Kardashians" t-shirt their front-man is wearing on their facebook header picture... very provincial. he is handsome, thought: he looks EXACTLY (sans arm tats) like me, back when i had long hair and was half a decade younger. oh no, a sudden realisation: i've wasted my chance of starting a metal band. :(

aw man... sorry for the short notice.. I'll let you know in advance next time. I only got to spend an evening/late night in Portland, then was in Seattle for the 4th and beyond! Portland came after a road trip from Colorado featuring stops in Moab and Boise. Alas!! Portland treated me well though!

ohhh. i thought the name sounded familiar: it is actually Ejeca, who helped create one of the best tunes of all time. the "C&D threat" was kind of a dick move, though. Ejeca and Ejecta are not the same. Young Ejecta is alright, i hope Yung Lean doesn't sue. you should check out [artist]Vök[/artist], if you haven't already. like them a whole lot.

i have heard a bit of Ejecta, didn't know about the moniker change. my favourite (from this new record, which i just heard) would be Your Planet, for obvious reasons: it's up-tempo-y and you can hear Ford & Lopatin in there. Lydia Ainsworth is awesome. "Tyler would love this," is what i would've thought, if i heard her before. i guess Moonstone is her Enya moment, i like that one quite a bit. thanks for the recommendations, as always!

i just read the current Kraftwerk show is in 3D, apparently. i bet you don't have to wear 3D glasses for the Memory Tapes performance! also, i'm fine. thanks for asking. i wish summer would equate to exciting stuff happening for me, as well.

hey! i saw Kraftwerk for the first time (almost precisely) ten years ago. June 13th, 2005. it was kind of a big deal for me! there's a whole lotta history behind them and the live show was (and probably still is) almost like going to the museum.

your chart made me check out [artist]Fan Death[/artist]'s page for the first time in, like, three years. the comment by "annoynmous" in the shoutbox is hilarity incarnate, and likely 100% truth.

cool. is this all random, or is there a script? exploring the idea of creation and physics on an empty 8 x 10 stage with a pickaxe. kinda like Minecraft: Live Art Performance! (that's a joke.) as for Android: try Simple Last.fm Scrobler and My Cloud Player. i've never used the official app.

hello! i guess i've been active on last dot fm. thanks to the wonderful world of apps and plugins and mobile devices, i always stream music from SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and vk.com. it sometimes scrobbles gibberish. i have to pop down here to delete the bad entries. so that's it, that's the activity. i don't think i have anything weird to report! a local company that owns me money for consulting hung up on me TWICE on saturday. that's not weird or anything out of the ordinary, sadly. i went to their office this morning with a straight-up FUCK YOU PAY ME attitude and their CEO was MIA, so they were "unable" to do anything about me being paid for my work.

speaking of funerals, summer funerals are the worst. i went to one yesterday. (my friend's mom died.) the heat was almost unbearable, as was the display of religious conformism.

thanks for sharing, as always. i've been reading about Gabrijel's work, looking at some of his performances. he's been quite active over the years. sadly, i've never seen his work in person. he made quite a reputation for himself: on-stage bloodletting and other antics. even had a rundown with the local neo-nazis, back in 2008. eh, no wonder he took his business to a more free environment.

as far as i'm concerned Panico have only one song. Every now and then i'll check what else they've done but nothing comes close. It's one of a handful that have been on every mp3 player i've owned the past several years or so http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iwClM-cEpI

and hello there backatcha. New Toro Y Moi songs came my way and i may have listened once before deleting; his music is too pasty thin and characterless for me (either that or just too subtle). Psychic Ills i tend to lose patience during their long droney songs but i enjoy their videos; lots of colour and things going on so that kinda helps me stay focused on the music. Kinski and FÖLLAKZOID i'm not familiar with, i think there's probably been a few bands called Kinski. Listening to FÖLLAKZOID now - current track is acid rock like with a Neu! like motorik groove which are all good ingredients. The only other band i know are from Chile are Panico and their 'well how you doing poppy...' song what ever it's called, i'm sure you'll know it. The Niki & The Dove song you mean (and it's a guaranteed goose bump one for me every time i hear it) might be Mother Protect - must listen to more of them and to more artists like them.

ever since Findlay left, Parallels kinda lost the "edge" they had. i prefer their old stuff, even though XII wasn't that bad. as for Biljana Kosmogina, one could easily write her off as a queer writer with a kind of Marina Abramović-lite thing going on. not exactly my thing, but i wouldn't mind seeing her perform. (for free.)

i can only guess what the deal is with Parallels, your story was quite interesting. perhaps they offended your friend Conrad in some way. maybe they were having a bad show or were super-pissed about their second album being largely ignored. (did you know "Dry Blood" was featured in an Oscar-winning film? that was the old Parallels, anyway.) in the end, it is quite possible that they are plain jerks. i barely ever think what bands i listen to are like in person. i guess most are just regular guys, some of them try-hards. a few, however, are genuinely insane.

few days ago i was listening to Portland Water by Michael Hurley and instantly thought of you. it's raining here from time-to-time, and i do like rain at times, however, it's the aftermath of heavy rain that i strongly dislike. muddy sidewalks and all that... it makes my little town look even dirtier.

Really? I thought subscribers in the U.S. could still use it. And actually, though I live in Osaka, I'm from SoCal (and I would love to move to Portland...assuming there was a decent job waiting for me there). I still scrobble, get reminded of local concerts and do Top 10 lists, that kind of thing. But I used to upload stuff from local bands (with their permission, of course), and now there's really no point in doing that. Can't use Pandora or many other streaming radio sites here, so kind of a bummer.

i just listened to a Lavander Diamond song, not exactly my thing. i would probably not regret missing it. also, haven't heard about the shooting in Portland, i'm afraid i don't really follow mainstream media... i did see this awesome guy.

by the way, i had a mildly eventful day: my friends apartment was broken into and his laptop was taken, amongst other things. he asked me to go "undercover" and check out the usual places where stolen electronic goods tend to sell. so, i had to descend to the human septic pool that is our town's flea market. no luck on finding it there, unfortunately. i was shocked to learn how well organised these criminals are. :/

Grimes is looking at the same fate, in about 3 years time. and that's being generous. i really like some of her tracks, and that video she recently put out is fantastic, still, that's how things are in the dog-eat-dog world of independent music.
