Are you using the Last.fm client and are your ipod plays scrobbling lately? I'm only getting scrobbles for stuff I listen to on my computer.

put "meathook" into that jawbox mix; that's one of my favorite covers of a Cure song.

I think it was some Morgan and Red Garland. Red Garland is a great pianist...not as much of a tonal ride as Ellington or Monk (especially not like Monk).

yeah, give it another shot - and if you mostly lose yourself in the guitar interplay while paying scant attention to the admittedly clunky lyrics, you should feel better about it. that's where i found some great moments in Greendale. for the most part I agree with you about the sputtering out of the last decade's releases, though i do prefer Broken Arrow to Mirror Ball.

aw, i have to completely disagree with you on this one. i'm a fan of "Cough Up The Bucks"! it's simple, yes - but that chugging riff and the tossed-off guitar wankery is fantastic. have you seen the video? it's hilarious. and i don't know, but when you throw together in a matter of months a concept album about your electric car and the auto industry that feels timely as hell, you get some allowances on lyrical content from me. it's a damn sight better than "Silver and Gold" or "prairie Wind" or any of that other spineless prattle he's put out in the past decade, that's for sure. i suggest you give the album another try.

You certainly do recognize that mix! (We named it "The Great Sour Cream Spill of '69." I don't know if you remember.) I was wondering if you'd notice. It's still excellent. Kudos! On a related note, remember that "Apple of My Eye" song that I found so annoying? Well, now that I have a baby, I find myself, almost involuntarily, singing it to him! What has happened to me?

some shady character told me that you, sir, put the bomp in the bomp-shubomp, and the deng in the dengda tang.

i have a feeling that show will be a combination of Jackass, the Osbournes, and whatever that tool Bam Margera's show is called...awful.

we're still neighbors...hey, how about Romney dropping out! His presidential bid dropped like part of the Big Dig's ceiling.

I have been sick and music listening is the only activity I can handle. Really, it's sad. Also, I like your new coffee considering picture.

well, if you enjoy glacial-paced guitar tones that rattle your sternum, along with an array of guest vocalists and an incredible design sense, you should enjoy their records. but if you ever get a chance to see them live, do not pass it up. it is like nothing else i've ever been a part of. just a wall of impenetrable smoke and sound, a literal full-body experience.
