I know what you mean, it seems like I'm always taking a while to get into the most recent releases and many fall by the wayside, not due to lack of interest but because there are so many things vying for my attention! Seriously what a hard life we live, so much music from our favourite artists :D

It's been a while now since I saw Anathema, but they blew me away (as I believe I've mentioned many times on the Swarm), so now I am into them, at least their most recent stuff at the moment! Also yes I am very slowly making my way through 2013's releases ;)

Pelican have some good stuff and a lot of average stuff. The new album seems to be a bit of both as well. I do like some of the riffs.

I fly out that day. Hope it is not too long till they come back. Kinda glad I wont have to see Chelsea Wolfe, seems to be the most overrated thing I have heard in a long time.

I stumbled across encircling sea earlier in the year, their new album is great. Shall need to check that other band out. The Russian Circles gig should be a cracker. Always superb live. Album sounds like it is made to be played live.

Just thought I would give it a few blasts in work. It is rather good but not got the initial catchieness of some of their other stuff. You heard it?

read your review for opeths heritage, thought it quite sensible, although I don't agree with everything (I don't really hear the pounding riffs on heritage, more sort of funky), but still the most useful comment I've seen on the subject. btw don't really get damnation either, should've been drip-fed into five or six metal albums.
