well let's see. first off everyone needs to hear "the shape of jazz to come" by ornette coleman, the birth of free jazz and just general awesomeness. then there's "bitches brew" by miles davis, "a love supreme" by john coltrane and for some smoothness, why not try some herbie hancock. that's just a few.

i'm sorry to say that i have that from a big anthology of jazz from james's house. however i have a bunch of great jazz albums if your getting interested in the genre (y)
