Hi, don´t think i stalk you, but another album came to my mind, and so i thought why shouldn´t i tell you. It´s called "Tomahawk" by the band "Tomahawk". that´s a mike patton project. And the album is a concept album about the different states of mind a serial killer goes through. The music is definitly heavier, also a bit experimental, and thrashes right in your brain on some songs ;) thanks for your answer in terms of zappa. but again, if you listen to this, please answer....I just love talking about music. :-) bye

I don´t know the concept-albums you mentioned in the discussion, but maybe you should try "Joe´s Garage" by Frank Zappa. It´s a hilarious story about a guy getting in deep deep trouble only for making "evil" rock music (he even gets raped by a german robot) . It´s really great (I guess "Gwar" maybe have a similar humour. If you listen to it....write what you think ;) bye

I'm not entirely sure if this is what you want, but I suspect Bathory's viking period could be up your alley, particularly the album "Hammerheart", although "Twilight of the Gods" and "Blood Fire Death" are good as well. There're also bands like Falkenbach, and Windir. Hope that's of some use. If you want something more upbeat, there's always Running Wild, a pirate metal band.

not so much... there is a pirate metal desk though... there are 14 metal sub-genre desks, not quite sure which one comes closest to viking though...
