Mouse's early albums are where it's at. This Is a Long Drive is my favorite. It's one of the few albums I could have on a desert island and never tire of it. The music, the lyrics (in general)... ah, so lovely. (I haven't gotten to Grizzly Bear yet. Where should I start?)

I didn't answer your question. I'd say #1 is Modest Mouse followed closely by Radiohead followed somewhat closely by Bright Eyes and Neutral Milk Hotel. Pink Floyd is somewhere in the mix, but that was more when I was in high school. Although, I did listen to Dark Side of the Moon over and over and over the other night. (on my parents' new speakers while napping after taking some painkillers)

Some seriously good bands listed. But you know that. I need to give Grizzly Bear a few spins on the ol' Pod. Here's the kicker question, though. Who's your number one band? (or top 5 if that's easier)

Oh, deary me. It was absoultely glorious. Sublime. They played more new songs that I imagined they would have (no complaints obviously). I talked to the guitarist after the show (as I have a want to do more and more these days) and he said they are planning on a February release and will be back in Chicago in March. Needless to say, I'm eagerly anticipating next spring. (Radiohead is amazing)

I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm not familiar with anything by Grizzly Bear (and honestly, I don't really care to right now since I'm listening to the new Radiohead), so I'll be flyiing blind there, but I'm sure I'll be fine.

I'm definitely a Beach House fan. Definitely. They jumped to #2 from close to nothing in about 2 months. I'm seeing them tonight with Grizzly Bear.
