Hello hello! I am having a very nice summer. It's been relaxing but busy and especially now because I've got to move next week and haven't even begun packing! Procrastination is key. How has your summer been??

Yeah there is quite a bit to do in the city, never a boring time. But, I agree, the freedom of the country is definitely liberating and grounding, easier to get a hold of your head in nature. I think that gets lost through the buildings and busy life of the city. an hour and a half from London is not bad at all. I've always wanted to go there. a BART ride is our sad version of the metro. Hardly accessible in comparison, but does the trick nevertheless. It is nice for me because I ride it for free since my mom works for the company. And as for Munich, you're absolutely correct I couldn't even tell you what was outside of the train station ha ha. I guess I will have to go back! especially when you mention beer garden.... Let's see my favorite city was shit I don't know. I enjoyed Amsterdam quite a bit as well as Aix-en-provence in France (don't check my spelling on that). Switzerland was gorgeous and clean as well and Paris was definitely very interesting too.as for Italy... eh...

I'm well in to a band called Tame Impala, and check out an album called Sno angel like you by a geezer called Howe Gelb, if ya like folk this should blow your socks of! Keep ya recommendations on the hip hop front commin bruv. Brap!

Yes, I go to the city at least once a week but often at least three times a week. One of my friends lives in Oakland right outside of SF so the Bart ride is probably around 20 minutes, if that. Not bad at all very easy to get to without driving. The Captain and the Hourglass! I absolutely love it. Her voice is amazing. Your place sounds wonderful too, village// country side is generally pretty and although I love the city there's something you irreplaceable with nature. Munich! i was there for about two hours at a train station haha. Did you like living there? My friend visits all the time and she says Germany is her favorite place in the world. I went to Switzerland, Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

Yeah I've got to check out Mumford and Sons more... I never really listen to them, but I'll check out her stuff minus Johnny Flynn as well. I haven't been to England, I only went backpacking in Europe over summer for about three weeks. Have to go back again! Haha a bit postcardy? Do you like that or not? I live in a semi-small town in the Bay Area so roughly 45 minutes away from San Francisco. It's very nice, at the base of a mountain and I suppose could be considered postcardy as well except we don't get visitors and hardly anybody even knows it exists haha. But very close to the city too.

Not as lame as the US. England is infinitely better, in fact I'm not entirely sure what is worse than the US in many aspects. it depends how you're looking at it. & yes that makes me feel slightly better, still jealous you've got the festival, that would be quite fun. Mate i aint heard of him at all, but gonna check it out. Ive done like the reverse to you, i use to be proper in to folk, and im more into hip hop. Neutral milk hotel are amazing!! Do you know the band Beirut? Check a album called the flying cup squad, and The dodos album called Visiter. One of my favorite folk albums is an album called Forever changes By a 60's band called Love. Its more psychedelic folk. Its one of the best albums ever. Have a listen if you get a chance.

It's so deep that album, really inspired me. Crying shame its not bigger. Ive tried to look up some british hip hop, but nothing close to roots. I love folk as well, Joanna newsom is blowing my mind. What folk you into?

Paul Baribeau's beard is fucking bad ass, I definitely agree. As for discovery, I believe a friend of mine played ten things for me a while back and it was all down hill from there. And luckily that happened because I currently do not know anybody who has the slightest idea who he is. Unfortunately. And I am insanely jealous you have attended Fairport Convention festivals for a large portion of your life. On top of residing in the UK.... even more jealous. I don't even remember how I came across them but definitely obsessed with Liege and Lief and just bought it on vinyl....but i need to listen to the newer stuff still. What do you like best from them?
