That No Limit era seem soooo long ago now. My first boyfriend in middle school wanted to be a rapper and attempted to emulate Mystikal's style.. not very well, though. I like the new Decemberists album. It's more folksy/country than their previous albums, I think. It's crazy, almost every time I get a new album, I see you're playing it too haha. I had tickets to see Cold War Kids here, too, but it turned out that my mom was scheduled for surgery on that date so I sold my tickets and hung out with her at the hospital instead. Sleigh Bells/LCD Soundsystem seems like a rad show. Not too many bigger acts come to Jacksonville, but I go see local and smaller bands a lot. Also, OFWGTKA and Happy New Year!

I've been listening to a lot of stuff my boyfriend listens to. Rap-wise (besides the Raekwon, which i still love), we've been listening to the new Royce Da 5'9", a LOT of Drake, and this dude called Yelawolf. I don't know how I feel about his stuff yet. It's definitely catchy. You should check it out and let me know what you think.

I listened to the whole Kid Cudi but I have to give it a few more go around before I really know how I feel. I've been wrapped up in the Rae and Jay stuff. Jays album is hit and miss for me. There are bangers that are exceptionally banging but then there's the suck. What I've enjoyed most about BP3 is the introduction (to me) of J.Cole. I downloaded his mixtape "The Warm Up" and absolutely love it.

Dude, I know it's been a while, but I just went through to check to see which of my friends were enjoying all this new hip hop spilling out at the moment and you seem to be right on top of it. The new Raekwon is like the sickest shit in a long time, right? I'm really enjoying the new Kid Cudi, too. It's a little more.. upfront and emotional than most people would expect from a hip hop album and I love the collabs with Ratatat.

heck yeah man, lots of similar artists. n thanks for givin me a link. as far as the album, id say i like about half of the songs... and even those had to grow on me. it's difficult cuz since sean martin, the lead guitarist for Hatebreed, co-produced it i knew it would have a rock feel. but i wish he would've used live instruments, which it doesn't sound like. it sounds like it was produced through plugins n stuff on a program, which makes most of the guitar riffs and drums... too clean... if that makes sense haha.

Woops! I got up this morning and realized I had a massive amount of homework due tomorrow, so I just signed out of everything without looking so that I wouldn't get distracted... yet here I am. I'll get on after I'm done. I think I feel similar about UMC. Common can definitely be counted on for lyrical consistency, but it seems like he was attempting to do something different with the production. He doesn't seem to have that WOW factor that I want to expect from him. I do like it, but you're right, it's not his best. I found "Changes" to be corny and sappy, and I wince that he uses the line, "are you not entertained?" in a song called "Gladiator".

They are previewing Common's new album Universal Mind Control on Myspace, and mp3 copies have been circulating the internet. I would love to hear what you think about it and this old-new electro trend in hip hop production.

I'd have to say you have pretty fuckin killer taste yourself. I love Modest Mouse and Feist almost more than I love my mom. I've had last.fm for less than a year, so all my phases of obsession haven't been properly recorded, but I swear to you, there will come a time where I'll spend 3 weeks listening to nothing but dancehall reggae and O Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack.

I'm addicted to that Hush Sound Track, "The Boys Are Too Refined", though the rest of the songs on that album are hit or miss. I hear ya on keepin it interesting with diverse music, though nothing melts my insides like well crafted hip hop.

Bill O'Reilly listens to Vanilla Ice and thinks it's too gangsta for his brain.

I hate Sole and think Anticon is corny trash, but "Dear Elpee" was a well done diss. Too bad he got smashed to pieces.

I noticed that you have a large collection of Loved Tracks and I thought you might be interested in a script that automates the process of adding them to a specific playlist in iTunes - here (more people should know about it). :)
