Thanks for replying! It's a lovely little place, Steve is doing a great job there, you would definitely love it. We're looking at keeping it monthly, possibly doing something in the other venue in between. Checked out your page, keep me updated if you've got any gigs coming up, it looks great and we're always on the look out. You must know Ian from HDIF and perhaps Morgan who used to run Kenicke and was djing at HDIF last night?

Only one band I’ve not heard off your list and that’s the Hobbes Fan Club – I’d looked for material on Spotify but came up empty. Ooh, we're all SUPER and such! I love that you put on indiepop nights in London. I'm planning to be in the UK for Indietracks next year so maybe I'll be able to make it to one or two. We really don't have much of that sort of thing in Australia as far as I've been able to gather.

I don't know just what he means by the poetry line; I suppose it may be an attempt to echo Dylan's reference to Italian poetry in 'tangled up in blue'. It's quite typical of the kind of daft detail that can enliven their songs. I quite like the music of that song. But 'cattle & cane' plays in a different league. Yes, I need to take those photos off my camera.

I have a friend who is going to JHU for a masters degree and he seems to like the school quite well. // You're right, a song using an earthquake as a metaphor for love in an indiepop context seems both appropriate and wanting - nothing novel but shouldn't indiepop cover all the required bases?!

Now I wish I hadn't asked because I REALLY wish I'd seen that now! On his Evangelist tour a couple of years ago he was chatty between songs although Grant was never mentioned which I thought a little odd given the album was basically what they were writing when he died. I saw the Go-Bs at an in-store & signing in Berlin when I lived there (like an idiot I forgot my camera) and they were both very approachable and easy going. Unfortunately I was dumbstruck... Maybe I'll slip a RF song into my playlist for tomorrow

I'm in Arlington, VA just across the river from Washington, D.C. Anyway, nothing to worry about as far as the quake goes, I think the worst it did was rattle some dishes. You really had to be awake to notice - it was my first so a bit fun for the novelty. My brother lives out in California and was once describing being in a parking lot when the last big one hit and watching the asphalt rolling around like surf in the ocean. // How did your sister end up outside of Baltimore?!
