the album 'heartbreaker' is amazing. the whole thing is probably one of the best albums put out in the last ten years. i listened to it non stop over the summer and just started again...

Ya... they used a ton of distortion and fuzzed up all the bass and guitar... from what i've read jeff mangum, the singer, got like obsessed with it. the cool thing about it is they didn't use and effects though... all the distortion is from plugging into like mic pre-amps and other random handcrafted stuff

[update: the band played one brand new song to a packed sirkus (about 50 people). the song was about 10 minutes long and featured gítardjamm-ish vocals, a kicking bassline and the fastest drumming we’ve heard in a sigur rós song. the band will leave to new york tomorrow to record their fifth lp, presumably including the brand new song heard tonight.]

according to an update to the bands myspace page, the band are heading to new york city to continue working on their next album with music producer flood. the boys have got together a - by their standards - big bunch of material and are leaving iceland for new york to work with flood on what will hopefully be a quick, neat job - maybe even ready for release by the summer. I've searched torrents and limewire on occasion and every once in a while I dig up something decent by damien. Lots of the stuff though is just tracks with the wrong title but occasionally you can find covers and other decent unreleased stuff.

I only have one, The Animal Years, that one is really good. the other songs i have by him i downloaded but ill probably buy his other ones someday. Anyway The Animal Years is really good, theres not really a song i dont like on it, so get that one if you want to.
