Hi! I haven't checked this in so long! I do like Gregory and the Hawk and indeed live in Leeds. I also like a bunch of other music you do it seems! I haven't 'scrobbled' in a while though so you wouldn't know it!

Oh and if you like the new Mastodon you might want to try Baroness - The Red Album and Torche - Meanderthal. For what are generally considered to be sludge/metal albums they aren't as oppressively heavy and they have the same sort of classic rock-esque sheen as Crack The Skye does, and they're both fucking amazing albums.

Oh and yeah The Wailers is going to be amazing! And me and Cheale have got Earth at the Brudenell the next day to look forward to as well! I've just about managed to wrangle the time off work to make it, I'm dead excited.

I have to say I'm a little disappointed with it to be honest. I mean the general reaction seems to be that a few people hate it and the majority think it's the best thing they've ever done. I'm somewhere in between....it's ok I guess, I was just expecting something different. There are some great moments on Crack The Skye but a large amount of it is actually quite boring. Big change in sound from their other material which is a lot heavier, but I think that was them trying to create a sound to fit the concept, which is fair enough I guess.

I haven't been on this for ageees. But appearently in this intervening period we have become.... SUPER... wow. x x

I see you are going to the Blakfish gig on saturday. I was planning on going to that but I'm not going up to Leeds this weekend anymore. Should be a good one!

Hahaha I just went mad watching clips from it on youtube because I haven't seen it in SO long. Every now and then I search for DVDs and all I can find are Region 1 ones. I did slightly want them to come back out and do more...but if they did it would have to have lasted about 45mins or so more otherwise yeah it would have been pretty weird. The only reason it felt a bit like a festival was because of the port-a-loos!

Yeah it was amazing. I was so tired but it didn't matter. The crescendos sounded absolutely HUGE it was great. And it was really cool how you could see their shadows on the wall and the ceiling.
