Do you know The American Analog Set? It's Andrew Kenny, who did that Home, Vol. 5 split with Ben Gibbard. I've been digging it lately. I'd start with Set Free, if you haven't heard any yet.

I actually don't mind some hip-hop. I definitely have listened to Outkast at one point and liked them. I'll try the trip-hop again, but what I listened to the other day...I think it was DJ Shadow...was OKAY, but I wasn't particularly fond of it...i might go listen to more, it might have just been the songs I was listening to.

Well I'd say that The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place by Explosions in the Sky is probably the best entry-level post-rock. You should definitely get ( ) by Sigur Rós, because it's one of the finest albums I've ever heard. Also, Enter by Russian Circles. It sort of bridges the gap between post-rock and post-metal.

Yes we have indeed had that conversation before, when I commented about your Professor Science shirt. I'm looking at your charts and I see a disturbing lack of post-rock! For someone with such eclectic taste, I'm just wondering, what's the deal with that?!

I assume your joking, but I'll give an honest answer just because. MP3 and AAC are lossey formats, I can tell the difference on my headphones. CDs are just 1s and 0s too, so to speak. Though it would be more correct to say on and offs as 1 and 0 are just abstractions of digital states. Finally, all digital audio is a lie, sound (and thusly music) is analog and therefor digital audio can never be a means of capturing the entire infinite real world experience.

I'm addicted to CDs. I guess I could start using it more at work...
