Hey spiraldreams! Great musical taste! I need to check out some of the artists in your library. I'm curious to know what you would think of my friends' band, MANKIND: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bedN-v9QMwc . Cheers from Sweden

Haha, yes. I fail. AND yes, unfortunately Racine, born and raised. Made it out alive (somewhat).

Aw, good! Maritime is great live. I really wanted to see El Oso. That would have brought me back to the days of teenage showdom in Racine. Man, I should have gone.

Did you actually go to Cactus tonight? I ended up staying at RW Fest most of it...

Yeah. This is heartbreaking. Emo day will become emo night. Hello Mineral, nice to meet you.

Hellz yeah! If you can't tell by what I've been listening to, I am beyond thrilled about both shows. This really has been a fantastic music year for me.

Uhm also obsessed is not quite the right word.. that just makes me sound like a fan girl. We're going to pretend I used the word "smitten" instead. :)

Am I seeing Interpol in Chicago? Lemme think for a second... Uhm yes of course I am. I've already seen them four times on this tour.. I really just can't get enough. I met Daniel in Texas, it was the most amazing experience of my life. Uhm, I am obsessed with Interpol. If you mention them in any context I will go on a tangent for days. haha Anyways, I'm pretty excited to see School of Seven Bells open for them.. I've listened to some of their stuff and they are far better than Interpol's two other opening bands on this tour. I wanted to go to to see them at Turner, but I had previous plans soo I couldn't go, but I wasn't too distraught since I'll still have a chance to see them :)

Yikes, Nik, sorry! I guess I don't think of you in terms of Chicago, though you are very close. :( If you can still make it, it would be great to see you! The show is at 9:00 at the Underground Lounge.

I reaaaaaaaally want to and was talking about it to some friends today, but I suck at planning things that much in advance. Right now I want to say "yes" but I don't know if friends (who can drive/want to go) will cancel last minute or change their mind or anything. But I really super hope I'm going?

I actually saw that video on your facebook, for the first time, yesterday. Seabear is pretty fantastic, but I feel like I can only cuddle or fall asleep when it's on? I might be able to drink tea in a dimly lit setting with someone to it though? But there still might have to be napping/cuddling intentions? I don't even know if that makes sense. It's just really cutesy and soft sounding? Also, I was unaware about the "joy division" tour thing. I'm not sure how I feel about that either? Hmmmmm.

I've been enjoying it. I haven't had a proper opportunity to sit down and listen to it, so I've only heard a few songs at a time. It's more of a "grower" than previous Sun Kil Moon records for me. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. There are definitely some instant highlights, particularly "Admiral Fell Promises," "You Are My Sun," and "The Leaning Tree." Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

I was pretty bummed the show was canceled as well :/ Ah, I am also going to Interpol, I've seen them a few times.. always amazing. I've been looking on a daily basis to see if the new album has leaked, I'm getting pretty impatient.. I'm sure it will be worth the wait though.

Nik, thanks for the recommendation. How did you hear this group? According to their last.fm page, they have under 1,000 listeners. Also, I'm very excited for Jonsi. I'm going with Ginny and my good friend Ian. I was considering going to both dates here in Minneapolis, but finally opted for one. If it were Sigur Ros I'd have to do both, but because Jonsi has so little solo material, I hopefully won't miss out by not being at both shows. Have you heard Julianna Barwick? I'd recommend listening to the "Florine EP" if not.

I'm not 100% on the James Blackshaw show yet. I was just browsing through his tour dates, and saw Chicago was as close as he's coming to me. If I do decide to go I would love company, and I'll be sure to let you know in advance. It is in February, so I should be able to work something out.

What are your thoughts on "The Apple and the Tooth"? I think the new songs are fine, but with the exception of two or three remixes, I found it to be a bit bland. It seems like he got all his friends to remix his songs, and all those friends had an identical approach. Wax Stag, Letherette, and The Gentlemen Losers are the happy exceptions to my mind.

I did not make it to either performance, unfortunately. I actually didn't make it to Mt. Eerie either, as I was out of town. It's been busy lately in Minneapolis, so I haven't been able to see many of the shows I've been hoping to. Enjoy Camera Obscura though. I had hoped to see them when they came through Minneapolis last, but alas, I wasn't able to.

Going to see Ensiferum too?! Nice! Should be a ridiculously fun show. I'm jealous that you get to see Woven Hand, but I can't be too bent up about it since he stopped here last November. ;)
