My quest for good metal has reaped mixed results. Someone recommended Dream Theatre and Uriah Heep (not exactly metal), and I really like them. I still cannot stand thrash/death/doom/speed metal...it's just pointless racket to me.

Amplifier's first album is an absolute masterpiece. Their second 'Insider' is also really good, but not up there with the debut. Go and buy it :D.
