I don't think I have a definitive favorite band cause that's really hard, but Unwound will probably be up there. I think I like W&T more anything Unwound have done but they have a lot more content and from what I've heard it's really consistent they'll probably be higher. Still, need to give it time. Just listening to New Plastic Ideas

actually if you like sort of minimalist and meditative music i can point you towards other stuff, i would recommend looking into the composers Pauline Oliveros and Eliane Radigue

his other 'essential' album is Dreamtime Return which is a lot different than SFS, it's sort of a sonic evocation of the "Dreamtime" from Australian aboriginal mythology and incorporates traditional instrumentation to create ancient atmospheres. though imo it's a little inconsistent and perhaps dated, though it's still worth hearing if not only for its historical significance. following DR his releases followed in that style a bit up until The Magnificent Void which returned to pure electronics (and more of a dark ambient style).

yeah that's his best one, definitely a classic in the genre
