Btw check out "deepchord presents echospace", if you want more action in the songs. But then again, it is a very well known band too, so you might very well be already faimilar with it. Sorry for the late reply, still being busy nowadays. (: Anyways, I see what you mean, I do feel the same about their album "Different Colours", but "Distance" really works well for me. Haven't heard the rest yet. And yeah, black metal is a bit difficult to get into, but I've been into most of the subgenres of metal at some point, to some degree. Actually I'm much more informed in metal than in ambient. I'm only scratching the surface (yet) with the latter. After the metal year I had (and still having) a longer post-rock phase, which only recently lead me to ambient music.

Someone did show me this band back when I was more into black metal and black ambient, but I did not find it that interesting. But now I do, gotta dwell into it more. Thanks for the recommendation, I didn't really find anything that special, lately. Yes, The Art of Dying Alone is definitely my favourite from him, also one of my favourite of all time. It is a bit different then the rest, especially the others you mentioned, so you might not like it. Personally I find Then his least interesting album, which is strange, because I know it's quite popular. All is Forgiven and A Careful Ecstasy are from this year, and I've been very busy lately, so I had little time to listen so music in general (sadly). But actually I like them, though they've a bit of a happy sound (well, bvdub-happy, hehe). But now I'm really looking forward for this release with Loscil.

Hahaha, yeah, it's easy to pass time with bvdub. (: The actual number is a tad higher, now that I have some of his albums on CD.
