hi we’ve been following each other for quite some time, i’ve always been in awe of how much you’ve managed to listen to michael’s music. this is random but i’d love to know what songs you think are his best? and what your favourite album of his is?. also, what album do you think i should start with?, i do know most of his singles, i listened to them a lot when i was a kid but i do not know any of the deepcuts😬

OH MY GOSH HI I AM SOOO SORRY FOR THE LATE RESPONSE!!! i haven’t very been active on last fm in recent months 😭😭 anyways, i have been an avid listener of michael’s since i was a toddler actually!! i like to consider him the reason i am so in love with music to this day. i think the majority of his best tracks are from thriller such as human nature, billie jean, thriller, beat it, you know all the classics. smooth criminal and bad are definitely up there. liberian girl deserves some praise too. dirty diana, black or white, remember the time, scream, earth song, rock with you, you rock my world, are what i consider some of his best. they are some of his most popular for a reason lol! my favourite album is bad, how he evolved his artistic style and really branched out of the sweetheart image he upheld since his j5 days. to kick off a listening marathon, i always say start with thriller, then bad. if you like thriller more try off the wall next, if you liked bad more then try dangerous

did you see Michael? if so, how did you feel about it? just got back from the theater and wish they had spent more time on the Bad era, some of the craziest aura ever and they only spent like 5 minutes on it lmao

overall, i enjoyed the experience despite some issues i personally had with the pacing and plot. jaafar deserves all the kudos he can get— embodied michael in a way i have never seen before. i really hope we get a better defined glimpse into the bad era and onward throughout the sequel, as well as michael’s personal struggles. but, i believe this is a film that no mj fan should miss out on

my life in 2024 was very different in comparison to the present day. i faced multiple mental challenges, my romantic relationship was going through many obstacles, on top of that learning how to live on my own without the dependency of my family— as a result, music was an escape for me. i spent every hour of every day staring at the ceiling whilst blasting music through my headphones. it was either that or doomscrolling. i’m in a much better position now, looking forward to earning my bachelor’s degree next year. music was and always has been my first love, and i’m glad it was my support system during some of the hardest times of my life. Tl;DR i had a lot of free time on my hands due to life bringing me down and music was basically my therapist lol

It's so nice to hear that. Maybe for other people music is just a hobby, but for you and me, it’s a part of our lives. In my case, I like looking at my statistics over the years and seeing what I was listening to at different moments in my life. Nowadays, I don’t listen to as much music because I’m studying and I’m almost done with college , I’ll finish next year. I’m really glad that you opened up to me, and I’m happy to hear that you’re doing well, my greatest! And never stop listening to music , it’s the only thing that stays with us through both the best and the worst moments lol.

Your compatibility with smoothwalkerTS is Super. You both listen to Conan Gray, Pierce the Veil and My Chemical Romance. Are you also hyperfixating on Michael Jackson 😼

Nice library! I see we have MJ, Green Day, and Kendrick in common -- I love that you're into Gaga, Eminem, and Nirvana too. Great taste!

HIII!! omgomg the biopic exceeded my expectations, with all the delays and bad news we received over the past two years my hopes for the film wavered with each headline, but god am i happy to say i was proven wrong! seeing young kids who were born years after mj’s death run to the theatres to go see the movie warms my heart and reaffirms michael’s eternal influence on the pop culture world. AND people are finally learning the truth— that the allegations were entirely falsified. this new wave of michael hype is bringing a huge smile to my face and i’m so excited for part two!!! <3

i watched it friday night and you absolutely cannot miss this film. when antoine fuqua said jaafar’s portrayal of michael was uncanny there was no exaggeration in that because i don’t think i have ever seen someone embody michael the way he did on the big screen, the experience was truly enamouring and another level of hypnotic. i, being a lifelong MJ fan myself, initially had doubts about the movie because come on it’s michael jackson controversy follows him around even after death 😭😭 but if you haven’t seen it yet please, please and i mean PLEASE watch when you can. don’t listen to the critics (looking at you, rotten tomatoes) you will not regret it. p.s. sorry if the mini review i gave was underwhelming LOL i’m exhausted

I am watching it this weekend!! I have to admit that currently I have veeery mixed thoughts about MJ himself after some more shit had come out about him, I still love him for being my childhood idol, and it's the only reason why I feel any kind of obligation to watch it tbh. I'm trying not to let the reviews distort my expectations but I also don't wanna dickride too much lol. I did talk to a few friends about it and they seem to not be disappointed but also not thoroughly impressed. Overall I just wanna have a good time and I'm certain that I will achieve that with the film <3

FUCK I forgot to tell you my own review lmao I didn't think it was LIFE-CHANGING but I did have a great time. The storytelling lacks so much that it's almost underwhelming tbh especially with how lacking Michael and Quincy's relationship was shown, the nonexistence of Janet in it, unvalueing how much actually went through production, the time-skipping just being too much... AND going to Bad like THAT????? Straight up disrespectful. But to the average MJ fan who isn't that deep into his lore and just wants to show him respect then it really is great. I gave it a 3,5, almost 4 at that. Props to Jaafar for nailing MJ completely. Dude is a clone

very valid review!! i agree on you with the how fast paced the film was— i believe janet “kindly declined” on being involved in the film, explaining her absence, and yes i wish they gave more depth to michael and quincy’s longtime collaboration. i was surprised that jon branca played a larger role in the story than Q. i understand that they can’t fit every aspect of michael’s life into one film, hence the future sequel. but they really downplayed on key points in the first half of mj’s life. nonetheless, i had an amazing time, i think it’s a film that you can’t miss out on, and with jaafar’s outstanding performance i can tell he’s going places

i must preface this by saying i'm not a ship wars person at all but i wish mike and will were handled a lot better as someone who shipped byler. for some reason, all of what needed to be addressed (the painting??) was just handled off screen instead of mentioned directly. will's coming out should've been inspirational and it could've been so much more than what it was, but now it's mostly getting made fun of. the writers built up such a good friendship and even if they weren't endgame they should've been handled a lot better in s5 especially

hellooooo i’ve been saying that too like i didn’t even ship byler but the dynamic was handled so poorly in s5 😭 i knew will was going to come out regardless of the ship’s fate but the execution felt so… underwhelming? robin’s coming out in s3 actually moved me and that was just her introduction season, i expected will to have a much more meaningful scene than the one the writers gave him considering he’s been there since the very start

I totally feel u. I had a lot of issues with the final season :,( it became clear by the end the show wasn't a love letter to the freaks, outcasts, and the traumatized anymore.... el's ending was the most glaring consequence of that 💔 #IBelieve till I die IDC!!!

thank god i wasn't around in 2019, thank god. i only got into him in 2024 but knew he was innocent i never believed the allegations. theres talks on mjtwt about how they don't know how older fans survived 2005....i don't either it probably was literal hell.

the trailer made a huge first impression on me and i have very high expectations considering the film is on the most famous musician to ever walk the planet lmao. although my curiosity as to how they will handle the (very false) allegations remains. one minor slip up and it’s screwed

5. the jaws of life. 4. a flair for the dramatic. misadventures and selfish machines are a tie for me. #1 collide with the sky. i’d elaborate more on why i gave each album those rankings but i would probably go over the characters limit on shouts lmao
